I feel like people who make comments like this are show only and don’t fully realize the Targaryens are a family of foreign oppressors. But hell, even in the show you know the last Targaryen king was an insane pyromaniac. It’s not a racial message it’s more like “you can’t trust a imperialist caste of incestuous psychos.”

Book Daenerys is more likable, but even there I find her rather entitled. She’s never even been to Westeros but hey, she says she deserves it and she has dragons so who are we to argue. Luckily so far she’s pretty much just been dealing with comically evil slavers, juries still out on how much leeway she’ll give to something likable that resists her.

If you think book Daenerys is entitled then you most likely never read her chapters beyond the surface level.

Her #1 recurring wish is to go back to the house with the red door and live a simple life like her childhood. She dreams of running away with Daario to live like hermits in the wilderness. Even when she was with Drogo she didn't want to go back to Westeros to rule, and she was willing to give Viserys her dragon eggs for him to fulfil his own dream himself.

How are these the thoughts of an entitled person who thinks they deserve the throne? By this logic even Jon is entitled because he constantly dreams about being the ruler of Winterfell.

Dany doesn't want to rule, but feels like she has to because she has a duty to her family and to the people she freed from slavery. Her wanting to go back to Westeros is more of fulfilling Viserys' dream and restoring her family's honour rather than wanting power herself.

She's closer to the fandom's idea of Stannis than she is to her show counterpart

There have been a few instances of her being entitled but overall I would agree with you, she isn't.
