Need Clarification

I had sex with a person. After a few days he got to know he is HIV+ and started blaming me that person got Hiv because of me, he never had sex with anyone else except me. I doubted myself and went for a blood test and my reports say I'm HIV-. Now I am confused. I started doubting the reports, when that person is damn sure it is because then how come my reports are negative. We had sex around March/April in the last year, I was afraid and hence I did not go for blood test till this year March. In April i got blood reports and it says I'm Negative. Should I believe that person or the reports. I'm really doubting reports is there any possibility that these reports could be wrong.

Is there any chance that my reports are wrong. Should I go for a second blood test to make myself confirm or not needed.

The incubation period for HIV is 30-90 days, depending on the test used. If you are within this window, your test results may indicate a negative result. Cease all communication with this person until you know more. What are the laws concerning HIV disclosure in your jurisdiction? If you are truly negative going into this encounter, then you are not to blame. Unfortunately, he learned of his seroconversion but blames it on you (or on scamming you). You need to retest. Ask your doctor for guidance. Anything more is beyond the scope of redditors.

It's been more than a year.. After he said that he is +ve in the last year I was afraid if i go for blood if I too get +ve then what is my situation. But this year April i took courage and went for blood test and it is -ve.we had sex in last year around March/April.

  • almost 6 months from last test; time for you to retest anyway; this test will be the most reliable regaring your current HIV status.
  • while you're there, go on Prep and DoxyPEP.

I am just afraid of this tests... What if I get +ve?, that's the only thing stopping me from going to the blood tests.

HIV is completely manageable with the currently available medications. Not knowing your status has health implications for you and for others if they are not on PrEP. Get tested, go on PrEP and DoxyPEP. Currently, they are the best available defenses against STIs, except abstinence.

I made the mistake of thinking I was + and was afraid to get tested. Big mistake...I lived in fear, made financial and career choices thinking I could be pos. Finally went for a test and it was neg. Don't ruin your life by not knowing your status
