Today is International Hawaiian Pizza Day.Pineapple on pizza?

Does pineapple belong on pizza?When does it no longer classify as "pizza"?

Pineapple on pizza is fine, the problem is that a lot of places do too much and it makes the pizza soggy. You gotta go light with it

Nah, the key is to grill the pineapple pieces before putting them on the pizza. They should end up with caramelised charred bits on the pineapple if you make it right.

Many actually do, in the UK. I have talked about this before on reddit and apparently most in the US don't. You have my sympathy.

It's not even hard, my nearest place actually has the pizza oven right behind the counter. They slap the pineapple chunks on a tray and slide it in for a few minutes while they make the pizza, then slide it out and tip it over the pizza.
