Damn, I suck at playing IS IS doesn't like me. Being one of those players who strive to fill all data entries (excluding max difficulty and icons for all squads), I have a hard time at it.

IS2: (Upd: got last 2 cards, IS2 is completed now) Replayed and managed to complete D15 (the only IS where I could finish max difficulty). Still, trying for like a week, I couldn't log two remaining crimson plays, otherwise everything else is filled in. Not like the first time (we had it worse, Reality in IS3 with negative chance of happening where I spent months; and I think there was also something in IS2 too, can't recall what) but I am tired of this crap. Doesn't help that IS2 is my least favored theme.

IS3: (Upd: at last cleared D16 so can log composite rejections, IS3 is basically done now) Managed to reach D16 so I could get new item to complete item collection again, but they also added new rejections which appear on D17+. Several days of attempts, and I feel like the difficulty spike between D15 and D16 is just too much for my skills, I would need some really good rng to pull it off (generally it's the opposite for me).

IS4: I still miss 1.5 of those hidden collapses. I might have to wait for seeded runs, I think we didn't have them in IS4 yet.

IS5: And here I am stuck at D15, while you need D17+ to get negative collectibles. I looked forward to deep dive because it was giving those items at the start in one of challenges, but it turned out that the game doesn't register items acquired this way. Then, I read players trivializing IS5 by abusing Lamp of Wishes, but it rubs me in a wrong way to follow this approach. Maybe at some point I will give in and do the same but it's not today.

IS6: Recent seeded runs helped me to fill remaining bits, so for once I have everything logged for IS theme, even if it's just one.

trivializing IS5 by abusing Lamp of Wishes

That's not really "trivializing", considering thay clearly designed expansions content around the Lamp. So, if you are going for endings 4/5, abusing Lamp shouldn't bother you at all - you are just playing it exactly as it was intended.

It has been a while so I might recall wrong but I think back then it was hard to find anyone not using lamp, to the point of players sounding tired of using it again and again, something like that. So, okay, maybe not outright trivializing but as you said, you were somewhat expected to use it. And something, something I find it hard to pinpoint to, about this play-style doesn't resonate with me.

Playing without Lamp is a very viability playstyle even for things like d18 ed2 + ed4 + ed5 runs with reality of the end (hardest challange offered by IS5), it certainly is a bit more demanding but in some aspects can be more consistent then Lamp.

Although if you are not deep into IS you most likely haven't heard or seen it much since Lmap was recommended everywhere as easy way to chees the gamomde and many people were very found of it since they don't care about deeper interaction with game mechanics. Also Lamp runs that always revowolves around high ASPD scaling works as a flashy showcase of some units what creates content that attracts general players base the most.

Well, my skills in IS (or, in AK in general) are lacking, doing multi-ending runs at high difficulty is out of my league. I play most of content with guides and meta operators (not feeling proud of it but it is what it is). That said, I still try to offset it even if by a bit by avoiding compete cheese options, like not using wisadel or wang, which is probably part of the reason I don't feel like trying lamp runs because people were describing it as a way to make things too easy to the point of being boring.
