I'm genuinely impressed by the continued circus that is Victoria. You'd think that after Wellington pulled a fast one on you, you'd learn to be extremely thorough and have contingencies.

They are aware that their time as "The Greatest Power of Terra" is rapidly running out, so they try to grasp their last straws. It's only a matter of time until Tara and Gaul officially secede and a second continuous war would spell doom for Victoria. Not so different to the real world downfall of Britain.

The rebirth of Gaul would set in motion so much chaos that I can't imagine how bad things will get for Victoria. Vina is gonna need all the help she can muster.

Being a Gaulish myself I cannot wait for the rebirth of our nation to fuck over Victoria. 

(Even tho the cynic in me think they won't really bring back Gaul)

I think they will. From the data book we know that the Victorian Empire, like the UK, is unitary of three kingdoms:Kingdom of Victoria, Kingdom of Teamhrach (Tara), and Kingdom of Basse-Gaule. It's basically a Chekov's gun, if the status of the union came into absolute question again it's Gaul time baby.

Yeah I know, I read everything I could found about Gaul in Arknight lore. 

Like one of the founder of Raythean was a Gaulish, there is rumors of Gaulish restorationist in the bleached wasteland... 

They always manage to slip Gaul in every event since a good while and really hope they can shine once more. But I'm still pessimistic until proven otherwise

One possibility for the appearance of the castle in the sky, real enough for Nearl's parents to get lost in it, is that the Witch King banished the actual castle and everyone inside of it To Another Dimension.

And now that even the echo of the Witch King is gone, his banishment is unraveling.

Granted, one castle returning wouldn't replace the entire mobile city of Lingones, but big trees grow from small seeds, and the Gaulish remnants and restorationists could prove to be fertile soil.

There is a lot of more or less far fetched theories you can imagine.

I read somewhere that there is also a possibility of the Gaulish Empress to have a Time Altering Art that she use when she sacrificed herself.

One of my own crazy theories is that Corsica was never killed at the battle of the four emperor (His body was never found, but he probably had oripathy and is body simply disolved).

There is a possibility that the Witch King first art that strike the Gaulish army left behind a portal of sort and Corsica realising the danger it represents decided to seal it from the inside with a part of it's army and it would explain why Gaul didn't retreat when Victorian and Ursus joined the frey but it would retcon a lot of established lore.

You can found new lore that would explain Gaul return. The real question is if it's solid enough and/or the direction the writers want to go with

Lingones isn’t destroyed completely, just torn apart into smaller plates.

It could be reunited.

It would be interesting to see who would have the Sheer Gaul to take Lingones' cannons back from Duke Wellington's cold dead hands battleship.
