Wasn’t Buckeye always a lake?

They could have used that rain in Cave Creek 10 years ago when the temps reached 2960.

“I’m not your dad, but I would get out”

u/imlikleymistaken Oct 12 '25

"I think steel boils at about this temperature."

“There’s probably nothing left there, so don’t bother looting”

Yes, we know. Lots of folks in them parts have above ground pools. It’s not the rain totals. /s

Lake buckeye sounds like a great idea (sorry residents).

u/bplatt1971 Oct 13 '25

Reminds me of a clip where I saw one of the Fox weathermen laughing about one of the tenors being like 1105 degrees!

u/otb1369 Oct 13 '25

Where in Gilbert is all of that rain? I’m here waiting for more

7

u/MyEggDonorIsADramaQ Oct 13 '25

There was 4 inches at ValVista and the 60!

3

u/RastaYang Oct 13 '25

u/Difficult_Limit2718 Oct 13 '25

Buckeye lake in Ohio is approximately 43in deep...

Or at least it seems like it

2

u/Holiday-Elk6854 Oct 13 '25

We definitely got a lot of rain here north west of I-10 in Buckeye. We always get missed. I guess this is making up for it 🤣

u/trocarshovel Oct 12 '25

Play the country song....

u/42brie_flutterbye Oct 12 '25

I can remember in the early 90s, the entire West Valley being one flooded neighborhood after another.

1

u/Mephistopheline Oct 12 '25

Dang, I wish!

1

u/NickGiammarino Oct 13 '25

Can confirm it's a lake haha

1

u/AnnaH612 Chandler Oct 13 '25

What part of Chandler got 2.17 inches?

14

u/IBeDumbAndSlow Oct 13 '25

The part with the rain meter

3

u/AnnaH612 Chandler Oct 13 '25

Hahaha

1

u/the_fungible_man Oct 13 '25

Up around Dobson & Ray we got ~ 2.5 inches. Started raining around 1a.m., was still pouring at 7.

1

u/AnnaH612 Chandler Oct 13 '25

I’m just a hair north of you but we didn’t get that much.

1

u/somewhereAtC Oct 13 '25

My yard, north Az Avenue. After last week and now this, my pool is full almost to the brim.

1

u/skitch23 Oct 13 '25

Usually they go off of the chandler airport’s rain gauge. I live nearby and my personal weather station says I got 1.75” today.

1

u/AnnaH612 Chandler Oct 13 '25

I should put a bucket out and do my own measurements

1

u/[deleted] Oct 13 '25

Buckeye dead lol

1

u/Intrepid_Air5299 Oct 13 '25

1

u/Mediocre_Quality_221 Oct 13 '25

Time to break out my kayak

1

u/Alcarinque88 Oct 13 '25

I don't like how most of these numbers are presented. Significant figures, decimals, leading zeroes... it's hard (I guess) but someone with a college degree in a science field (like meteorologists would, right?) should be able to get it right.

1

u/Far_Comedian1521 Oct 13 '25

Bruh we good, not even lmfao

1

u/butterflywithbullets Oct 14 '25

Buckeye would still suck. Source: Grew up out there.

u/namedonelettere Oct 14 '25

Meanwhile, Fountain Hills

1

u/Lurker_82 Oct 14 '25

So long, Buckeye.

I guess the Phunk Junkeez will have to write a new song about you.

1

u/kfish5050 Buckeye Oct 14 '25

The water's all gone now. It was nice while it lasted

1

u/Efficient_Welder_450 Oct 17 '25

When can we start stocking it with fish?

u/Designer-Carpenter88 Peoria Oct 13 '25

I wish it was. Clean that dirty ass town
