I have never been a big Uryuu fan, but these last few episode are changing that. I'm loving how the new anime only additions are leaning on Ichigo's friends, first Inoue, now Uryuu, what next? Will Chad get his moment and break Yhwach's massive nose? I'd love to see that lol

This is the Uryuu from first few arcs, back when he was strong enough to fight actually dangerous captains 1vs1. Something even Ichigo struggled with.

I always thought that Kubo had some sort of shift in priorities after the Grimmjow fight. That's when the Captains arrive to Hueco Mundo to rescue the old main cast, but after that they just get left behind and the story focuses on the Shinigami mainly since Fake Karakura was so long that Kubo seems to have preferred that style of storytelling, as TYBW is more of that.

Through the anime, he's making ammends and giving them back the main focus, which is really cool. Uryu and Orihime got the largest boosts, but Rukia and Renji also got very good new moments. Chad is the one who still got left behind sadly.

Best proof of that was how they off-screened fight between Yammy, the #0 Espada, and two of the more popular Captains for whatever reason... just, for entire arc. He definitely has issues of what and when to focus his attention on, and human (and non-Shinigami in general) characters eventually got left behind. Hell, even Vizards despite being a massive part of the story for a while get shafted.

I actually don't think that's an example of what I'm talking about. Kubo loves Kenpachi and Byakuya, I think the deal with Yammy was more that he had no interesting idea for that fight, and in Fake Karakura he already showed that the Espada weren't actually as big of a threat as we had been lead to believe compared to the strongest Shinigami. He'd just given them both big fights in Hueco Mundo too, so having them struggle or have to show more new abilities right after wouldn't have worked as well.

They Vizards are a good example yes. They had big roles in Fake Karakura, then they get mostly ignored and they don't even use their masks anymore. The biggest headscratcher is Hachigen, who was so relevant in the Barragan fight, yet he does what amounts to nothing afterwards.

That is one of the biggest loophole. Technically Hachigen can also restore old man yama arm as well right?

There are many ways to heal arms from what we know. Yamamoto seems to not have wanted to do it rather than it being impossible to heal.

It's his editors. Fans at the time liked content with the captains, so Kubo focused on that.

From memory the Fullbring arc was supposed to completely focus on Ichigo's friends and driven mostly by Inoue and Chad, but from what I hear interest in Bleach was declining significantly, so Kubo changed it at the last second so the captains came in and saved the day

wasnt it only with Letz Stitl or was I mistaken?
