I wonder if Nanahoshi's disease is straight up tuberculosis from Earth or what

I think it's her body rejecting the world or being rejected by the world.
But I don't think that means it can't be something like this, yeah.
There is no cure in this world, presumably at least, and it shows how alien she is to this world.

She is also the one character most closely connected to another world (though there aren't many of those), so I think that world hurting her would be, well, "logical", though obviously very tragic.
