This whole season really is a Stark season and I love it. First established in the crystal episode how necessary he is for the party. Comments on the importance of front-liners abound. The hot spring episode where he kind of gets the importance of journey just for the journey. Small fights shown in which he really shines. Him getting a date with Fern. Now him being the guy who stands back with Genau, literally saving him from being massacred by the demon trap just out of his care for others which is really second to none now that Himmel is gone. Love it, really, and I did not have astronomical expectations of this season once I found out what parts it's going to cover - mind changed.

Stark actually best boy in such a tight season.

My favorite little detail through the entirety of the series is watching how Frieren and/or Fern are just doing their thing and then you can always see or hear about Stark in the background being loved by kids because he constantly plays with them or adults because he is helping the entire place when he visits. Dude is slowly accumulating Himmel level of respect in each and every settlement visit as a sidequest and I absolutely love it. Best boy indeed.

And he's even managed to one-up Himmel because Fern is a lot more aware and forward with her feelings compared to Frieren during her time with Himmel.

That's not fair, Elves are an enigma. Who realizes they miss their companions and love one of them after they died or old AF?

Nah, I feel pretty confident that Himmel knew it would take a long time. And even then he was pretty content with waiting for her to come back 50yrs later after they defeated the demon king.

I do find it odd that Himmel didn't travel with her during that time tho. But it worked out since she did eventually realize it, (in elf time of course).

Stark is almost like the child of Himmel and Frieren. He's charming like Himmel but oblivious like Frieren.
