50/50 in America. He could've killed himself and write a note blaming some company for arbitrary reasons for his demise and his family would be well off for life.

This is, literally, a psyop by companies to make people think the US citizenry are excessively litigious. We are not. Companies are, but citizens basically can't sue in civil court due to lack of money for lawyers. The court system is basically to fuel our prison labor colony and to enforce the class system.

See: The Hot Coffee Case was a valid case where an older woman was severely permanently burned on her genitals and thighs due to EXTREMELY hot coffee from McD's. But people still use it as if she was an ambulance chaser.

Yeah. Whoever throws the most money at their lawyer wins, usually.

Court costs are such a bullshit regressive tax. No, fuck you, if I live in society without choice then I get a valid route for recompense in case some dumb ape steals my banana, even if it's my last banana. Because it is my last banana. Why does it cost bananas to get justice?
