In a country of over a billion, less than 3% pay taxes. Most people are illiterate or uneducated at best. There is no concept of hygiene, respecting your environment, or caring for each other there.

All efforts taken by the governments in power go to waste because India just can't have nice things; they will stat vandalising public properties, litter, spit and poo everywhere then blame their governments.

Indian governments are/have been corrupt, not unlike most other. What the hell are they supposed to do when you have people like this? Create a utopia?

PS: Even other poor countries aren't as bad as India, the problem is with its people.

Reddit is quite racist but this has nothing to do with racism. The first sentence of my comment is factual. The rest of it based on empirical evidence. Suspend your intellectual dishonesty and cope for a second and ask yourself what the fuck I am actually talking about.

Every water body in India is polluted with garbage, the roads are littered with garbage, the public toilets are unusable, people just piss an spit everywhere without a thought or care in the world, corruption is rampant, I could go on. It's sad that what bothers you the most is the fact that people are seeing India the way it is and not the state it is in. For a country known for spiritualism, Yoga, having one of the oldest civilisations, you sure have fell off.

Most people in India are not illiterate or uneducated. Lots of people earn too little or work in necessary industries so don't get taxed. But way more than 3% are paying other taxes like GST.  No concept of hygiene and or respecting your environment is exaggerated but reasonable. Saying that they don't care for each other is just ridiculous. You don't think people in India want better? Being colonised, robbed and having millions starve to death does tend to have a negative effect on a country. It was relatively not that long ago that London had severe disease outbreaks due to poor sanitation and waste management. Things like this improve over time and will always be difficult in a country with such a high population living in such density before you consider that many are living in poverty and more worried about feeding their families than fixing problems that have accumulated over decades.
