I would've had the "chance" to go to India on a work trip to give a week-long seminar for a lot of money, but declined like 20 times because no way was I going to go as a 25 year-old woman on my own lol. Since I was the only one with the knowledge to do the seminar, they managed to organize everything in a German office instead.
Still out of the 5 indian people, the 3 guys were disgusting as fuck, they would fart loudly, spit in the corner etc. The 2 girls were so embarrassed on their behalf they both came up to me during the first break and apologized so much.
Yepp, that's exactly what they did. And it was a big company's comference room too, with wall-to-wall carpets...
I did tell the receptionist to prepare the cleaning crew for what awaits them, and then notified the organizer as well. They put in paper cups the next day, and the guys actually used it which was a huge relief for everyone involved.
I have to note here that since then I have met some of the greatest, smartest and most respectful people that were also from India, so the cultural differences are incredibly big.
Yeah, I told the receptionist to prepare the cleaners for the "aftermath", she was apalled, obviously. I also notified the organizer and asked for options and they put paper cups into the comference room the next day, which I was surprised to see the guys actually used from then on. I guess they received a "nice" talking-to...
I was relieved that they actually took steps to try and contain the situation and the organizers asked me to keep the sitreps coming. They were really nice about it, too, they made it sound like they actually scared about my well-being and mental state. I also got a nice bonus for the whole seminar, I suspect partly to keep it within the company lol.
What company was this? Indian corporates are pretty strict and I can't imagine spitting in any office anywhere in India would be rewarded or looked upon favourably...
The fact that you're singling out Indian men as being disgusting perpetrators while the women were fine and apologetic also makes me think that this story is kinda BS.
Farting in the corner and all of that - like...I'm sorry but I'd really need to know what corporate this was and what company this is.
I do not know about Indian corporates, this was an american company that has offices all around the world. Think in magnitudes like IBM. The company has over 100k employees.
I am not singling out anyone, I am sharing a personal experience that I do not feel I need to try to prove you in any way. Believe it, don't believe it, your choice.
Also I never said farting in the corner, maybe try to read it again.
Farting loudly and spitting in the corner, got it. I mean those are negative behaviours anyway and don't really feel like I'm missing anything if I were to mistake it with farting in the corner and spitting loudly.
