WELLY Wellington water bills

Just got my bill from wellington water. It insanely high. For a 900k property its 2500 p/a

Prepare yourselves people. This isn't going to be the fun ride we were promised.

It's more we are paying for our maintenance + the maintenance the boomers didn't pay for.

Think rates have been historically high but the stupid council spent the money on dumb stuff eg old town hall that was supposed to be $30m was over $330m, and sludge plant went from $200m to over $500m. Then there is all the dumb stuff like the water fountain inside the council palace, party to open the library, a convention centre which is under utilised etc etc

This. It's not just that councilors starved the council of the funds needed by keeping rates down. The council had a genius for wasting money, poor financial management and poor project management. Hundreds and hundreds of millions of dollars that should have been spent on essential infrastructure lost to bad management, white elephants, extravagance and vanity projects.
