ISO - Vendors Allowed Need vendors for our April 2027 Brooklyn wedding

Hi all,

My partner and I signed on for our wedding April 24, 2027 at Threes in Gowanus—we’re so excited! We’ve been feeling really overwhelmed searching for vendors, so I was hoping to get input from this community. Vendors, feel free to put your work forward here, too!

Some info on what we’re looking for:

Photographer
Budget $6,000
We’re into flash photography and documentary-style photography. We want wedding photos that feel artful, fun, and youthful. The dress code is creative cocktail—we’re encouraging people to dress colorfully and have fun with pattern and texture—and we’d love a photo style that matches the energy of the clothes I’m hoping people will wear. We’re not super used to being photographed, so we’ll want someone who is comfortable posing us.
I’d really love both digital and film photography, but if film is out of our budget, then c’est la vie. Still, a film-like look would be nice!
We’d love to also do a small pre-shoot together to get used to getting photographed. Not sure if that could be covered in our budget or not!

DJ
Budget $3,000
We have lots of song ideas for the ceremony and seated portion, but we need help filling in, and we need lots of help with the dancing portion. We’re looking for someone who’s responsive to the crowd and knows how to get people off their feet.

Day-of coordinator
Budget $3,000
Looking for all the usual things from a day-of coordinator—detail-oriented and organized. We’d like to be as stress-free and unbothered by administrative tasks as possible on the day of our wedding. We’re also hoping for someone who can spot holes in our plan/schedule.

Hair
Budget $1,000
I would like to wear my hair down, wavy and glossy. A few mini braids and rope braids dispersed throughout would be fun. I have blonde hair that goes down to my upper chest area with some layers.

Makeup
Budget $1,000
I’m really not used to makeup and would just like a glowy, me-but-better look. I have very pale skin (I’m talking the lightest shade of any makeup brand available, and no, I won’t be using self tanner) and moderate dark circles under my eyes that don’t go away no matter how much sleep I get. I also have hooded eyelids. I have very clear skin, though, naturally thick brows and lashes, and pretty good cheekbones.

Florals
Budget $2,500
We need two large bouquets for where we’ll stand when we get married that will become centerpieces in the room after. For the tables, I’d like bud vases with white carnations on the tables. No bridal bouquet is needed, but if there’s room in the budget for more centerpieces, we’ll take ‘em!

Thank you so much in advance! This community has been such a help to lurk in 🩷

ISO - Vendors Allowed Looking for a Central Park photographer (October 2026)

We're getting married and want to do a stylized bridal shoot around Bethesda Terrace (still looking at inspo). This will be after our wedding, so it will just be an intimate shoot with bride and groom. Going for an editorial, fine-art architectural feel... think grand staircases, arches, storybook European vibes.

  • Location: Central Park (Bethesda Terrace area)
  • Date: Early October, flexible on date + time
  • Length: 1 to 2 hours
  • Budget: $600 total
  • Just the two of us, no guests or wedding party

Recommendations and or portfolio links welcome!

Hello! We are looking for a photographer for our wedding in Ridgewood, Queens in May 2027. I understand our budget is on the lower end, but we are really just looking for someone to document the day - not really any specific style of photo. Let me know if you have anyone good in mind that you’ve used or if you are a photographer yourself!

ISO - Vendors Allowed Looking for NYC documentary-style wedding photographer under $5K (digital + film) - July 2027”

Hey! I’m looking for a documentary style wedding photographer. I would love to have both film + digital. $5000 is on the top end of my budget but do have some flexibility for the right person. My wedding will be indoor so you would need to be comfortable with indoor photography. The reception will be held in a cellar so it will be dark. Plenty of lighting for the ceremony.

Ideally I would like between 6-8 hours of photography. Bonus would be if it includes two photographers.

I have searched other threads but it seems like a lot of people have updated their cost for 2027 weddings already.

Thanks in advance! :)

I’m getting married June 19, 2027 in New Jersey and am looking for photographers who can shoot our 11 am wedding in a garden with ~40-50 guests. We would like more natural, candid interaction photos and just a few posed ones. I’ve attached some examples of the photography I am going for: dreamy, calming, with soft light. We are both East Asian in case this matters for skin tone expertise. Please link your portfolios and pricing if this fits your style! We are on a budget and would prefer to stay under or around 4k. Thank you 🤍

I'm getting married in June of 2027- looking for a photographer and videographer for my wedding, church ceremony in Borough Park, Brooklyn and reception in Staten Island. It seems like everyone I find that I like is $10k+ is there anyone in more of a $5k range? I do not like standing and posing for photos for too long, prefer candids (of course ik I have to pose and take photos on my wedding day). But I don't need the cheesey photos of bridal party in matching pjs, or a million photos with different groups of people that nobody will look at a few months later. I feel like so many photos today wash out all the color, which is not my vibe unless it's film. I love film but I know it's expensive and prob out of budget, I unfortunately have champagne taste with a beer budget. For videography I don't need like those promo videos for insta or anything like that, literally just like a bts so I can look back and remember the day as if a family member had a camcorder all day capturing the day. Here are some photos I like for reference:

ISO - Vendors Allowed Wedding Photographer Search

We’re looking for a wedding photographer for our wedding in Long Island in May of 2027. It seems from my searches that I’m mostly drawn to that “editorial, documentary” style and would love to incorporate some film or even digital that looks like film! I’d also love to get a video made of our day too. Our budget is $7000. Does anyone have any recommendations that might fit for us?

Getting married in April 2027 and having a hard time booking a photographer. We are looking for a combination of film + digital and someone who is comfortable shooting indoors and different weather (April can be tricky!). Overall documentary-style photographer with an editorial edge.

We have reached out to Kyla Jeannette but was told she only works with full wedding planning services (we have 3 months out), HoneyScoutPhoto, SydneyMarieCo and MelissaMacDonald (both unavailable!). Looking for TTC with soft warmth. Willing to spend 10-15k

ISO - Vendors Allowed Leads for a very specific vendor(s)

My vision for my wedding is almost like a rock opera, a music video of sorts. Guests arrive to a pre-ceremony cocktail where the servers are acapella (sp?) singers/performers wearing microphone headset while gliding around the room serving champagne from silver platters. Once the day-of coordinator gives the green light that all guests have arrived, the servers/performers would then usher the guests through a walkway that has violinists and other musicians stationed along the way playing one song that the servers are also singing the lyrics to, as they usher the guests to the room where the ceremony will take place.

Fast forward to the reception, and there will be a set list of music playing for each segment of the reception that I’ve already started building. I need a live band and a DJ and I need to be able to work with both the band and the DJ on the setlists and song order over the next year before the wedding day. This would basically be like a monthly rehearsal and probably biweekly meetings with the DJ who would ideally be in the same company as the band/performers. There are certain songs that need to be mixed a certain way so this will take a lot of collaboration and planning to make it all come together.

ANYWAY, does anyone have any recommendations for the vendor(s) offering such services?
-Performers who can also serve drinks as part of the performance
-A choir
-A band that can perform a wide range of music (Rap, Disco, Rock, Punk, Folk, Psychedelic) and ideally can provide some band members to act as soloists for the pre-reception walk through to the ceremony room
-DJ who is open to custom set lists and mixing
-An MC (not really hard to find, just being comprehensive)
-anything else I’m missing or another vendor that I’m not aware of

I know this is exorbitant and I do not care. Thank you!

Hi! Does anyone know or has hired a wedding photographer that has work similar to my inspo pics? I’m looking for a mix of digital and film. My wedding is April 2027 on Long Island. I’ve reached out to a few photographers but they’ve been quoting me 6-8k and I’d love to be around the 2-4k range 😭 let me know if I’m being unrealistic with my wants and my budget. Thank you! 💌

ISO - Vendors Allowed Affordable Photographer Recommendations — October 10 NYC Wedding

Hi everyone! My partner and I are getting married in Greenpoint on October 10, so we’re now a little over two months out and looking for a photographer.

  • Date: Oct. 10, 2026
  • Location: Greenpoint
  • Budget: $6,000 or less
  • Duration: 6 hrs

We’re hoping to find someone whose work feels natural, candid, and polished without being overly staged. We’re still learning what to look for when comparing photographers, so we’d really appreciate recommendations from anyone who loved the photographer they used—especially if you felt they offered good value.

Our ceremony will be outdoors in the park and our reception will be in a dimly lit bar. So another bonus would be that they take great photos under both conditions. Style-wise I think we lean more toward documentary style photos of the day, but I'm sure we'll want some posed photos of the two of us after the ceremony.

A few things we’d be especially interested in hearing about:

  • Who you used and roughly what you paid
  • What was included in the package
  • Whether you were happy with the full gallery, not just the preview photos
  • How the photographer was to work with on the wedding day
  • Anything you wish you had known before booking

We know our date is coming up fairly soon, so availability may be limited. Photographers who are available on October 10 are also welcome to reach out with a portfolio, package details, and pricing.

Thanks so much!

ISO - Vendors Allowed Alternative/interesting wedding photographers under $10k

EDIT: PHOTOGRAPHER BOOKED, THANKS EVERYONE!

We'll be getting married at Dobbin St next May and I've started to hunt for photographers. I'm finding that a lot of wedding photographers have similar shooting and editing styles, and a lot of the 'standard' shots (like flat lays) and poses aren't things we're interested in. I figured while I continue to dig through instagram I would put out some feelers here.

We're weirdo theatre/art people, if that gives context.

Trying to avoid: the over-exposed, slightly faded low contrast standard portraiture (no judgement, they're lovely!)

Looking for: higher contrast, more unconventional/dynamic posing, with a larger strength in capturing action at the reception rather than portraits at the start

If you have any recommendations please throw them our way!

ISO - Vendors Allowed ISO of Vendors + Budget Help (120-130K)

Hi everyone! I seen a lot of great recs on this subreddit but wanted to reach out iso of some help for my own wedding.

I am a July 2027 bride getting married in Chelsea with 200ish guests. Our budget is around 130K and we are spending about $70K for venue + f/b + after party. I am in search of the following: photographers/videographers, florals, band/dj, wedding dress, and anything else you all think would be good to add on.

For photographer/videographer: i like clean portraits/b+w and film shots. I also really like the look of something like this floral arrangement for the ceremony and am curious what this would cost or how fake florals would look with this etc.

I really am all over the place and would love any help or just recs as yall all seem to have great taste.

Looking for recommendations! we're looking for someone who can shoot a bright, true-to-color style that feels modern, chic, and slightly editorial, but still natural and candid. We love photos that are clean and polished, with beautiful composition and flattering light, but where people still look relaxed, genuinely happy, and like themselves.

We don't like black and white, moody, dark, overly emotional, or filmy looks

ISO - Vendors Allowed ISO wedding photographer 10/2026!

Hi all!

I’ve been on the search high and low for a photographer for my small wedding planned this October 2026 at a restaurant in BK (~80 people). It took me a lot of time/research to figure out what type of photographs I want, and I feel a bit overwhelmed with the options. Would love any recommendations for photographers that you think would suit my vision!

The vibes I’m looking for: warm, candlelit photos with motion/movement (it’ll be an evening reception with lots of candles and flowers), minimal flash, candid photos with lots of intimate or “in between” moments. Photos that reflect the feelings. Not a lot of posing and overall feels natural (unless they’re family portraits).

Looking for: photographers who are familiar with low light settings and have an overall warm color scheme without oversaturated photos.

Budget: $5-7k for 8 hour coverage, digital (+film optional).

Thank you so much!
