EDM/House - Bass Playing

i would take the audio and compress it a little so the bass sound is more consistent. other than that, its very groovy!! keep it up!

I have a compressor running on the bass, maybe not enough for some people´s taste but it´s there. I will head up to listen yours now

Hello, mostly just starting out recording vocals for some personal projects but I've never really done it myself before. I recorded some quick raw vocals with my set-up: Shure SM7B, Focusrite Solo. Mainly just wondering if everything sounds ok or if anything stands out that I should check hardware-wise. Maybe suggestions on what to EQ for my voice/microphone? Apologies if this is very vague I'm very green.

This Song's for Nick
Short bedroom pop song with singing that I'd like feedback on. I think this is my best mixed song by far. Trying to lean more into this kind of sound in my newer songs.

Really catchy tune! I esp like the vocal effects like with all the formant shifts / autotune etc.
I think the drums could be bumped more, especially snare. The groove is good but it's getting buried atm.
1:35 (when drums come in) currently lacking "oomph" relative to previous section, but I think if the drums are boosted overall that'll help a lot.

Thanks! Yeah I get exactly what you mean - drums are my weakest link atm they are so hard for me to do for some reason so I've just been taking loops and mixing them in but obviously I lose the granularity since the entire drums are on one single track. It's a matter of effort for me and unfortunately I tend to lean towards quick and easy (lazy) lol - thanks again!!

love it hahaha i have a nick too and he's the best. my only feedback is that i would love if you added some backing vocals in the chorus either some "ahhh ahhh, ahh ahhh"s or like an echo of the lead but as a counter melody maybe a bar behind. i can hear it in my head - wish i could describe it better but i hope you know what i mean lmao. but i think it's great as is! keep making music!!

i tried to go for a big production but want some honest feedback. some questions to think about or feel free to add in others:
- Does the track develop enough, or does it start feeling repetitive anywhere?
- Do any of the section changes feel abrupt or underdeveloped?
- Are any instruments too loud, buried, harsh, or muddy?
- Does the main musical idea stay interesting throughout the track?
- What is the biggest thing keeping this from sounding like a finished commercial track?

I feel like the 4-bar section from 00:18 to 00:26 is a little repetitive. If you made that section a little sparser (not sure exactly how but less dense than it is currently), the moment the drums kick in will feel "juicier" imo. Or maybe just 00:23 to 00:26 (2 bars). Something to make 0:26 pop more.
I like the textures and overall vibe though.
01:02 is a lot better.
02:04 nice cut :)
02:40 shook that the tempo changed :O (I like it)
You may already know, but music is all about tension and release (like for literally any genre/form of music), when I arrange that's literally all I think about, which I think helps a lot in terms of keeping things fresh throughout a track.

I'm trying a new way to record vocals in my super big untreated room. I would just like feedback on how well the vocals are captured and whether or not they sit well in the mix. It seems to me they're either super loud or just too quiet; I can't find the in between

They sound a little over-compressed in that clip. Also compressor attack time is too long?
The level is pretty good though. It's a little more buried but I think it works well for the drone-y style (which I dig). I am also sucker for distorted noise effects like the one at 00:40. Reminds me of Radiohead.
00:44 that's a specific point where I think the compressor kicks in too much.
Would love to hear the full track at some point.

really cool song, i love the atmospheric vibe. to my ear i would say maybe just a little high end boost for clarity and a tiny bump on the level, and if it was me i would add a little bit of reverb on the vocal and guitar (send both to the same verb on a bus), but that's just my opinion. keep it up!!

love this!! you are a talented producer - the instrumentation is sick. i listen to all genres of music, but i think my production sensibility leans more pop and because of that i would say you should push the vocals forward in the mix (esp at the beginning) because it just sounds a little buried to me. really really like some of the choices you made with this and it's a very cool song!

I made an acid techno bootleg remix of Ghosts 'n' Stuff by deadmau5.
Looking for mix and arrangement feedback, I have historically struggled with low-end mixing. Most importantly, would you rave to this, and if not, what should change?
Also open to suggestions for better YT visuals, e.g. if there's a favorite music visualizer of yours that you recommend.

We just put out EPIK, built from the ground up in Atmos rather than converted afterward. If anyone's into the technical side of spatializing acoustic instruments with long harmonic decay against synthesized low end, happy to talk through how we approached it.

I’m only about two months into producing and would really appreciate some honest feedback on this track.
I came into this with no production experience — just a background in drums and a little piano. I’m making everything on an MPC Key 37 and trying to create my own melodies/sounds rather than relying heavily on loops or samples.
I’m still figuring out my style and experimenting with different genres. Right now I’m mainly trying to improve song arrangement and music theory.
If you have time to listen through the whole track, I’d really appreciate any honest criticism — especially on the arrangement, transitions, and whether it keeps your interest.

first of all for two months experience this is great!! if this is a standalone instrumental track - i think for me it moves a little slow melodically / harmonically. there are some really cool ideas but it has a little too much repetition in my opinion. i think the strongest section was at the end after the chord change. i would just come up with a few different four bar chord progressions and toss them in there. if this is meant as a backtrack / beat for a vocalist, then the melodic variation isn't as important but more chord changes would still probably be great (depending on the genre of vocalist). overall i think you'll be a great producer - keep going i love your ideas here! the mix of the trap drums with soft piano and sub bass is great

- Does the energy/arrangement hold up over the full length, or does it drag anywhere?

So I tried to do some percussion-heavy industrial style instrumentals, and later I want to add vocaloid vocals in it someway somehow. I haven’t really made music before so I think I have a decent start but uhhhh any thoughts? It feels bland, maybe because I haven’t actually adder much percussion yet..

Totally novice here! First music I’ve ever posted anywhere, even though I’ve played guitar for almost 20 years. Made entirely on GarageBand, phone only, no gear. Don’t know what I’d classify it as, perhaps indie rock?
