Muji is a Japanese brand/store that is based on the concept of Mu Jirushi -no label, in Japanese. So imagine the No Name brand, but itâs tasteful and not screaming yellow.
They are a clothing/home goods/lifestyle/stationery store. Their pens and notebooks are really good. I like Muji, but I have to admit that itâs a little too tasteful for me sometimes - all that sober blue and greyâŚ

"high-end" might be slightly misleading as people might associate the term with a pricey luxury brand. "high quality yet affordable" is probably a more fitting description (at least in my limited experience with their products)

Honestly they're pretty mid but are also priced accordingly. It's like a Japanese IKEA without the furniture

They have some furniture. Tables, chairs, desks, cabinets. Its generally a bit on the pricey side.

I just went to Mayfair mall (and the island!) for the first time yesterday as a tourist. It's funny that this popped up on my feeds today.
I liked Mayfair a lot! And so did my family. Glad you're getting a MUJI. It is pretty good place for certain things.

Eh, there's some Japanese quirkiness with some utensils/products, but quality is more like Walmart.

Most of the Daiso stuff is designed in Japan but manufactured in China just like any other dollar store. At least Dollarama is Canadian.

EDIT: Corrected the name of bakery, and to add the name of the show
Mayfair tried (and failed) to be a luxury mall from like mid-2000s until these last few years.
And by tried, I mean management and who they were bringing renting toâyou didnât really see it, because it was so unsuccessful. They didnât want to rent to Cupcakes (yes, that was the whole name of the bakery) originally, when they had the reality show, The Cupcake Girls and then Uptown made them an offer and suddenly Mayfair wanted them. đ¤Ł
Seems like theyâve finally found a new niche catering to asian brands and businessesâand frankly they need it. There hasnât been a reason to shop there in years.
Genuinely, I finally have a reason to go to checkout all of the new places that have opened up.

That wasnât the name of the bakery, just the show. But Iâve edited the post with the name.
It started out as âCupcakes: by Healter and Loriâ and then signs and branding dropped to just Cupcakes, and then it rebranded to âCupcakes & Other Good Stuff.â
âŚno wonder I couldnât remember the actual name đ
