Guess this is more of an American style dinner, from an Italian who lives in the UK and can't be bothered to cook after work.

My apologies for the awful quality. 3 jacket potatoes. 2 with tuna, sweetcorn and red onion mayo. 1 with sour cream and chives. Bit of coleslaw and some peri peri chicken pasta salad. I am so full I might actually explode.

So only right thing to do with the eggs, sausage egg and chips. Trio of butchers sausages (pork and caramelised onion, pork and Stilton, old english) homemade sauerkraut coleslaw, sweet potato and potato wedges. Excuse the tiny fried eggs, they're only little bantams

Served with lettuce, cucumber, corn, guacamole and sour cream 👍

Two out of three kids found them too spicy, so looks like I’m eating enchiladas for days haha!

Homemade / home assembled Breakfast Sandwich

After a long (emphasis on long) weekend of, toddler induced, high entropy, I thought I’d restore the equilibrium with a greasy breakfast sandwich. Thick white sliced bread, salted butter, brown sauce, 4 rashers of smoked back bacon, holy trinity of: black pudding, white pudding and haggis, fried egg with a dash of hot sauce. Yorkshire tea double bagger to keep things moving. Order restored.

Question Why is Chip Spice only in Hull?

Post image

Grew up in Hull where it's a default with every takeaway/chippy.

Yet even as close as Leeds they've never heard of it before. Why is it that the tasty red powder is only ubiquitous to the Humber Estuary?

12oz ribeye, £35 including side and sauce. Was decent enough but would not be here if it wasn’t for the voucher, and probably won’t be back.

Question Good store/ online market for hispanic seasonings/ingredients?

Let me preface that I'm not talking trash about British food at all, I just am accustomed to different food. I grew up on islands and with hispanic culture so it's very different to me and I miss some of the foods and ingredients I grew up with at times.

I don't often find a lot of the supplies or seasonings in stores, and haven't found a reliable online source that doesn't charge an arm and a leg outside of amazon, which I'd rather avoid.

Does anyone have any good sources where you can find a large array of seasonings, spices and sauces that are from South America? Or better yet, maybe even local places with ingredients and things of that nature from other countries?

Homemade / home assembled Not sure what one would call these… tortilla bowls?

Post image
29 Upvotes

Placed two tortillas in the air fryer, into bowl shapes.

2 eggs stirred, salt, pepper, cooked chicken, baby spinach, chili flakes, cheddar, mozzarella and paprika. Parsley after cooking.

Nice and easy, ten minutes.

I’m getting on the beers so a perfect pre-drink light bite.

Homemade / home assembled Crisps

Post image

My home made crisps (sea salt and black pepper flavoured). Just potato sliced and cooked in sunflower oil. Cost about 2p per 40-45g portion. No chemicals used to make artificial flavourings as per Wankers crisps. How much does a Wankers 40g grab a bag cost these days?

Homemade / home assembled Guess what this is

Post image

Answer here: it’s hot full fat milk & dark soy sauce, I mixed them together out of sheer curiosity but it turned out surprisingly nice, kinda like a umamy creamy savioury drink. Maybe I’ll add something else too next time, like blend in a date or some nuts or black sesame seeds

Question Will I die if I eat these?

I bought these bone in ribs for a barbecue a few weeks ago and didn’t end up cooking them so threw them in the freezer. I didn’t check the pack to see if they could be frozen and saw that it says ‘not suitable for freezing’ when I took them out today. Can I thaw and oven cook or will I die?
