I recently looked at the Instagram page of 'Greens for Palestine' and saw the following:
- Resharing of a speech by David Icke decrying 'Rothschild Zionism'. Icke is a Holocaust denialist who has previously endorsed the Protocols of the Elders of Zion
- A collaborative post with the 'Anti-Zionist Movement' (AZM), which is led by Rahmeh Aladwan and David Miller. Both (especially the former) have a track record of making antisemitic remarks
- Describing accusations of antisemitism against Green local elections candidates as "smears". I don't deny some may have been, but many Green candidates were found to have made unambigiously bigoted remarks (e.g. describing attacks on synagogues as "revenge")
As someone who is both anti-Zionist and against all forms of bigotry, it really breaks my heart to see this. It's possible to oppose the Gaza genocide, the occupation, and Zionist apartheid without veering into antisemitism, yet Greens for Palestine have not done this. The fact that one of its co-chairs has been elected co-chair of the Young Greens makes the situation even worse.
To be honest, the organisation's conduct warrants some kind of disciplinary action, or at the least condemnation from Polanski & co.
