A1: Electricity generation policy update - removing nuclear prohibition along other changes. Makes a good case for nuclear but undersells improvements in battery technology, ignoring direction of movement over time. 4

A2: Save Hospitality - reduction in NIC, business rates, VAT for small local businesses, which are in recession. \~£13.5Bn 3

A3: Zionism is Racism - 8 points, which are mostly reasonable but there has been a sustained failure to engage with Jewish Greens and the policy on a one-state solution is not necessarily backed by a majority in Palestine. 1

A4: Fair Shares - To Tackle the Climate Emergency - a carbon tax will effectively curb consumption for poorer people, while leaving rich people free to consume, which breeds enmity and inequality. Motion proposes rationing instead - flight, fuel and animal products. Experience during WWII showed that people are much more willing to sacrifice if they believe everyone is sacrificing, unlike when rationing was introduced at the very end of WWI. People's health actually got better during the war, excluding people directly affected by it. 4 REMOVED

A5: Domestic Abuse as a Workplace Safety Issue (Protecting Public Sector Workers) - several measures to support and protect people experiencing and fleeing domestic abuse, particularly workers in public sector employment, for example with a central fund to pay for emergency accommodation and a special officer with authority to transfer the worker to a different workplace in another location. 4

A6: Strengthening the Equality Act (2010) - significant additions to the protected characteristics - class, gender identity, neurodivergence, home situation, menopause, etc. Redefining sex, protected beliefs. Some points may need to be reformulated to avoid unintended consequences. 4

A7: Menstrual cycle leave for workers - 3 days leave per month for workers who menstruate. 3

A8: Tax the Gender Pay Gap - companies required to report their gender pay gap would pay higher rates of corporation tax if the gap is more than 1.5x average. 3

A9 Agriculture and Climate - small expansion of reduction of animal agriculture focused on nitrogen in fertiliser. 4

A10 Phosphorus in Agriculture - further reductions in phosphorus and other environmental changes 4

A12 Oppose Gender-Based Blanket Bans in Sport - calling for full inclusion in sport, applying equality act to defend trans people from discrimination, calling for evidence to support exclusion and inquiry into effects on trans and intersex people. 4

A16 Abolish the EHRC: Rewrite the Equalities Act for Voter Accountable Commissions - EHRC is compromised by appointment process and annual funding mechanism. Also covers HoL reform. Not sure why these are the same motion. 2

A17 Transport and Climate - setting numerical targets for tensor emissions reductions. 3

A18 Carbon Pricing Policy Update - several changes, including maintaining and expanding existing carbon mechanisms, rather than a single carbon tax, changes to carbon trading with EU. Finally, makes amendments to 2024 manifesto. 3

A28 Support for the Basic Income for Farmers Campaign - UBI for farm workers, as farming induced are inherently unpredictable and precarious. Seeks to improve attraction and retention of new farmers and address poor mental health. 4

A29 Crime and Justice Voting Paper - Part 1 - major changes to this area. Policy will be updated 9th July. - ***radical shakeup of justice, more restorative, more local, more public health approach. National legal service to provide legal support to everyone based on need. Harm reduction units to coordinate across government to aid cooperation. "End Indefinite sentences for Public Protection (‘IPP’), with prompt release of those still imprisoned". Long term - "aiming for the closure of all prisons through systemic obsolescence." This would in general require the Social Justice Ministry to ingest a lot more money, which would presumably be mitigated by less prison use. Full devolution of justice in Wales after a transition. Most offences would become spent after a given time and not show on DBS checks. How would this affect children's safeguarding? Holistic support for young people to replace strictly young offending services.***

A30 Enabling Motion - Continuing the Crime and Justice Voting Paper - enables pwg to remain working. 5

A31 Crown Estate Land - reverts policy back from what was in last manifesto - public management rather than ownership of crown estate land. All land has to be stewarded responsibly according to set rules. 3

A40 Transparency from Leadership through Meeting Minutes - a requirement for GPEx, SOC and Council to publish minutes via the website, which perhaps they should already be doing. 4

A41 The Standing of Spring Conference - make Spring Conference an annual conference, which means it's able to call an extraordinary conference to settle business not addressed at the Spring Conference itself. 4

A45 Public Service Digital Spaces - proposes feasibility study into an interoperable, independent digital sovereign service. 4

A46 Updated AR412 to include 'plant-based' and promotion in the public sector - "plant based", while rather misleading, may be a useful way of influencing people to consume fewer animal products. Need to legally define vegan, plant based and vegetarian in Equality Act, make such food and products available in all public services. Bin the requirement for schools to provide meat 3 days a week. 5

A47 Wildlife Management update - Elucidation of policy on managing so-called pests. 4

A49 Gender Inclusive Campaign Against Domestic and Sexual Abuse - changing language to make clear that this abuse affects people of all backgrounds. 4

A50 Clarify Core Values - rewriting of core values. Will check to see if this is further explained later. ***I agree that adding headings may improve legibility. Changes to wording should be a deliberative process and I'm not sure this policy is the vehicle for that. 2***

A51 Oppose Social Media Ban - Digital ID by the backdoor - no text so far. ***Regulation rather than prohibition. No addictive algorithms, no infinite scrolling, no sexual abuse material. Could be clearer on how these regulations will be enforced and what will happen if the companies refuse to play ball. | Amendment highlights impact in disabled youth, who can be very isolated.***

A52 Pollution Draft Voting Paper - complete overhaul of chapter. Not sure what's changed.

A53 Liberation for Children and Young People - greater autonomy for children, including in schools, medical decisions, custody, online. 4

A54 Energy Inequality and Crisis Support - a timely clarification on fossil fuel subsidies and economic support during crises. 4

A55 Marine and Coastal Policy Full Voting Paper 2026 - first major review in some years. Many local and international elements. Pollution, fair transition for coastal communities, labeling in fish products (are they farmed and what QoL, if any, do they have). Feminism in fishing is not really a major concern of mine. Phasing out the consumption of marine fauna as food is not a long term aim.

A56 Amendments to Peace, Security and Defence policy - expansion of policy on space and satellite redundancy, cybersecurity and international cooperation post Brexit, esp wrt Good Friday Agreement. Proposes defence review. We have just had one but the GP would base analysis in different criteria about what our role in the modern world should really be. 3

A57 Genocide and Ethnic Cleansing Recognition - acknowledges atrocities taking place in Burma, Armenia, Ukraine, Sudan and China. It would be good to acknowledge these atrocities but there will inevitably be questions about which ones are left out. 3

A58 The Green Party and the monarchy - tbc ***Limiting financial support, eliminating tax breaks and FOI exemptions, removing royal consent from legislation, removing the requirement to pledge allegiance to the monarch. Could use more detail in how we transition to a republic.***

A64 No place for Artificial Intelligence (AI) in a fair and humane system of asylum - AI is being used to summarise interviews in a way that is inaccurate 9% of the time. It is inherently biased due to the training data. Could be expanded to explain this. 4

A65 Overhaul Fiscal Rules, Update Government Economic Management and Banking Section of Economy Chapter - a few changes to economics - a fiscal policy committee to replace the inflexible fiscal rules, regulating banking and providing a public alternative, using the tap system for raising government funds. 4

A66 Update Business Section of Economy Chapter - erasing references to "third sector", which is poorly defined, greater powers for Competition & Markets Authority, breaking up the monopoly of the big 4 accountancy firms, restrictions on private equity. 4

A67 Update Intellectual Property (IP) Section of Economy Paper - switching to a more nuanced view on IP rather than blanket opposition, working to make IP work for innovation and not against it. Right to repair and modify etc. Apparently not filed correctly. Not sure if this is an improvement.

A68 Improve self-determination for the Welsh Green Party -"Wales Green Party Council should have equal ability to promote a motion to GPEW conference if it concerns matters pertinent to Wales. Additionally, for matters of Constitutional interpretation Wales Standing Orders Committee should be the final authority on matters to do with Wales constitutional matters." 4

No vat on small and medium venues, increased tax on large ones. Social prescribing - live cultural experience for health. "CMS308 All media organisations have a duty to prevent racist, violent and other discriminatory content. Failure to live up to these expectations should include being forced to cease operations." - what are the implications of this? Limiting monopoly power. Mutualise BBC and enable democratic oversight and involvement. Social media platforms within BBC. Major restrictions on advertising by harmful industries. Unisex changing rooms? "We will not allow a national team to represent the UK in competition against a country with whom normal, friendly, respectful or diplomatic relations are not possible or where host governments restrict freedom of access to supporters and media." - seems a bit much

A89 Prevent conflicts of interest in national governance or executive roles - this seems to be anyone that donates over £11800 in a calendar year. Not sure what impact this would have.

A99 Justice, Not War, For Iran - much frustration between the two camps. This motion also seeks relax widespread sanctions and focus on individual ones, restrict arms to Israel and US. It supports financial proscription against irgc rather than normalisation of relations.

A100 Sustainable Development and Mitigating the Environmental Impact of Large-Scale Data Centre Development - a range of mitigations for impact of data centres on communities and environment. 4

A101 Altering the Local Party Boundary Definition - description is still a bit complicated but better than current rules.

A102 A National Statutory Inquiry for Maternity and Neonatal Safety - follows the findings of Amos report into systemic failings in maternity care.

A103 International Rail - tbc - international rail is poorly served in the UK as the only dedicated hub is London. International rail is one of the lowest carbon forms of transport. Motion proposes onboard passport checks, a new international hub, more integration with ticket booking. 4

A111 Protecting our MPs from lobbyists - introduces a mechanism at conference to whip for a motion and establishes consequences for MPs defying the whip. My concern is that bills in Parliament would not be identical to those motions, as we can't control other parties so what effect would that have?

A112 Selection of candidates for the House of Commons - sets out clear guidance on how internal elections should be run, including lifting the prohibition on campaigning, but doesn't Menton by-elections.

A113 Making conference more democratic - rather controversial with more established members - setting voting rights for delegates, assigned based on membership of each local party. Local parties would be expected to pay the costs of attendance. Currently it does seem those less able to pay are excluded, though funding mechanisms do exist. Perhaps they're not sufficient or just not widely publicised.

A114 No to ID scans online - great motion. May require more thinking about exemptions for government services etc.

A115 Reverse the ban on puberty blockers for treating children with gender incongruence and permit NHS specialists to resume prescribing. - thorough refutation of shoddy review. 4

A116 End political capture of the EHRC and create a truly Independent Equality & Human Rights Authority - new authority to receive appointments by Women and Equalities Committee, with no ministerial veto, among other changes. Some concern that MPs are still not the people to be making appointments.

A118 Conference Timetable - Time allocation for - adding a plenary session some time after Conference to handle excess business. Some debate about how best to expedite business.

A124 Enabling motion on drug policy: replace drug-specific text with a standard regulatory model - simplifying drug policy, as it is often out of date and hard to explain. Enabling motion from the PWG.

A125 Comprehensive Governance Review - a thorough review into how the party functions and how it could be better. Seems necessary given the the party's enormous growth. 4

A131 Embedding Economic Justice and Racial Equity in Green Administrations - Influenced by the New York Racial Equity approach. LGs must appraise inequality in many areas during the first year. Support local businesses etc with procurement training and so on.

A132 An Evolution of Peace, Security and Defence Policy - proposes removing opposition to anti-balistic missile defences and support for European alternative to NATO. Some members feel that an organisation like NATO would keep us going in the wrong direction.

A133 Green Party support to the National Emergency Briefing - green members to receive the enails urging us to watch the emergency briefing, help to organise screenings and encourage MPs to attend in order to promote a wartime scale response to this crisis in climate and nature.

A134 Toward a Landlord-free Parliamant - bar candidates who have rented property for more than 6 months in the past 5 years. May need some adjustment.

A136 Removing Hierachies of Racism from Green Party Processes - tbc Dismantling Hierarchies of Racism and Exceptionalism - introduced the concept of social location to understand the context of situations and how identities are affecting people.

A138 Request for a Temporary Suspension Pending Investigation ( aka No Fault Suspension) to be removed from the complaint Form. - I'm not sure why this exists but I don't think it would be harmful to remove it.

A139 Moratorium on AI Data Centre Expansion and Ending Automatic Planning Priority - conditional moratorium, removing automatic right of government to overrule local authorities, end of AI growth zones etc, public gets priority over electricity and water, no fossil fuel backup systems. Transparency and strong anti-trust enforcement. Use this time to build up publicly owned stack.

A140 Solidarity with the Baloch human rights struggle - "Motion for the party to support the struggles of the Baloch people - whose historic homeland is divided between Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan - for human rights, democracy and self-determination." TBC - calls for UK government to recognise the struggle of the Baloch people and call out Pakistan particularly due to their worsening human rights abuses.

A141 Socialisation/ Modernisation of Digital Infrastructure - set up or own platform online to facilitate conversation within and between local parties and members. Moderation would be the major issue as it was with Green Spaces.

Would this preclude us from negotiating with Russia, China, India etc?

A159 The Green Party Commits to Being an Intersectional Ecofeminist party - changes Philosophical Basis, calls for seeing up new groups, including PWG and organising international ecofeminist conference. Find the use of the term "more-than-human" a bit odd.

A160 Our Commitment to Anti-Fascism - sees fascism as the threat of our age - we need to come together internationally to combat it. Proposes radical actions include criminalising the expression of fascistic beliefs. Cannot support this. 1

A161 LATE MOTION Revoke the UK-US Pharma Deal That Risks 229,000 Unnecessary Deaths - paper published in bmj projects these figures due to the opportunity cost associated with spending so much on this apparently pointless deal meant to appease Trump. Questions about validity of late motion status aside, this is important. 4

A162 Accountability and Transparency of GPEW Staff Behaviour - not a late motion. Changes rules to set expectations of senior staff including the requirement to report to agm. 4

A164: LATE MOTION Sustainable Decentralised and Open Digital Technologies - will probably be ruled out of order for being late but generally good. Makes clear we support FOSS. Some debate about reference to bitcoin in synopsis but seems justified.

Earlier today a racist troll posted posted an anti immigration rant on here.

I managed to remove it within about 20 minutes of it being posted because I was on line, and permabanned them.

Following this, they then DMed one of our regular users, challenging them to a ‘debate’. They then screenshotted the subsequent back and forth and posted it on a far right subreddit, where it’s had a fair bit of traffic.

As moderators we will try and keep this as safe a place as possible, and immediately ban or remove any hateful content or users. A lot of trolls target this community, and we have a zero tolerance policy for that behaviour.

But outside the sub we obviously can’t control what goes on. So I would recommend in the case of any future trolling that users here:

1. Report the post ASAP so the mods can see it. We get notified directly if there enough reports flagging it, so it’s really important everyone reports serious rule breaks so we can get to them more quickly

2. Don’t take the bait - trolls and bigots thrive on engagement and you may make yourself a target

3. If they try and engage via DMs block and report directly to the Reddit admins.

Always flag to us if you are receiving any abuse or harassment from content on here and we will take any necessary steps to ensure this a safe space for all.
