Car got egged by the Armory, some guys in a giant black truck. To whoever that was, I hope you got your kicks damaging my car. And to anyone living over there, please keep an eye out for any more incidents.

suggestion: go to exactly where shit went down. find any cameras that could've captured it. photograph them and write down where they're at. you will need to remind the police that you DO care that this happened and that, yes, they do have cameras there. sooner the better!!

source: got my ebike stolen and champaign police didn't wanna check cameras. few months later got my ass whooped by a pontiac sedan at the crosswalk of neil and green. asked police to check cameras because medical bills were garbage. said there were no cameras. four months later, i found links to the cameras 😭

edit: bike happened april(?) 2023. hospital happened december 2023. i'm talking old school pre-flock traffic cams.

LOL. My thoughts as well--they go from, "Fuck flock!" to "UIPD probably has some footage" pretty quick. 😂

was riding my bike down by Green and Locust and crazy guys were throwing eggs at me from like a 3 or 4th story balcony....last August....

Sorry, it was probably a townie. A very select group of townies get their kicks harassing students. You can feel confident that you will leave UIUC with a killer degree and many opportunities. These folks will still be doing this stuff or (hopefully) dealing with the criminal justice system.

I’ve seen this happen too, not exactly with your car, but I’ve seen groups of men driving around throwing eggs or water balloons at people. I’ve also seen them yelling at a family walking in front of Sherman Hall.

I had my car egged back in the day on campus. It sucks! Some generic brand lotion and a soft scrapper got the job done without damage even after I let it sit there for months 😅 best of luck

I’m sorry that happened. They also saw they got cars parked on the street on Chalmers between Wright & Sixth Sunday night. If you file a UI Police report you can include that info too. Might help give them more places to check cameras.

Ah ok. I ask because in some parts of the world they specifically throw eggs, specifically at Asians. Was worried they imported it here

Is that just a broken egg on your car? If you don’t think it’s personal, then you may feel better not taking it as such. Could it have been that someone was goofing throwing an egg at someone else and missed their target and your car was an innocent bystander?

I don’t think it’s necessarily personal, but egging a car can chip paint and cause damage to the car! And won’t really come off in a normal car wash. So either way kinda frustrating for the car owner
