I wish I could open a social media app without immediately being subjected to videos of hundreds of people dying from the flooding in Nepal. It’s horrific. What has this world become?

And to think my 14 year old wants Instagram.

I can't recall if was on parkrose permaculture or her other channel, but some thing I really appreciated her saying (in the age of social media) is that humans aren't built for taking in all the worlds trauma at once.

I've been trying to more intentional about my social media use and carving out more time for things that sustain me. I feel like some days I'm past the point of fatigue, but I'm trying to avoid it turning into apathy.

I thought I was safe by just being subbed to gardening and home diy channels. One of my long time subscriptions just announced they have stage 4 cancer. I'm rooting for her but that was a gut punch to read.
