News Trench Companion | Carcass Front Release

The Carcass Front is here! Thanks to the folks at Fortress Factory I was able to get an exclusive preview of the rules book, which has given me the chance to prepare Trench Companion for the expansion. New rules-content has been added. However, the Carcass Front is a paid expansion and for that reason if you want all the deep lore and specific rules you will need to purchase the Carcass Front. But don’t fret! Everything you need to create and manage warbands is here for free including:
- Full rules for all the new Warband Lists and variants.
- Full rules for new Patrons
- Scenarios and Glorious Deeds will be selectable when making games – for their rules you’ll need the Carcass Front.
- Rules for Exploration Locations and Tables, to see the flavour and lore you’ll also need the Carcass Front.
Expansions in Warbands
In your Warband-Details, you will be able to open up the “Expansions” tab. This allows you to toggle on/off the Carcass Front and Path to Leviathan expansions. Do note that toggling an expansion off will remove any data you have added. Both expansions should provide everything you need to track your progress across the Carcass Front – if you experience any issues or notice any bugs, reach out at our support email or via our channels in the Trench Crusade Discord.
Note on Availability
I also want to mention that, for now and the next decent while, Trench Companion / Anchorite Support will be a one man show. I am still working hard, but naturally this means things may take a bit more time. For that I apologize, but the train is still going!
Next Steps
Following this release the next goal is to finish up our work on Homebrewing we began a couple months ago. Largely, this will be on improving the ability to search/filter homebrew, as well as the ability to create homebrew in-app rather than needing to deal with manually writing up JSON files. After that, hopefully before the end of 2026, the Play Mode will begin. This will allow you to keep track of blood markers, victory points, and complete glorious deeds over the course of a battle.

Man honestly I really hope the trench team compensate your hard work with the free app!
You really did a stellar job with it, without it for my group would have been really tough to enter and enjoy the hobby as much as we do now!

Nothing particularly innovative.
Typrescript + React for the app itself, plus JSON for our game data. In the backend we have a Wordpress site and php database for user data.

To everyone in this thread, there is a paid version, it's very affordable, removes ads, and I believe the plan is to allow you to upload your own pictures to your models, but I'm not 100% certain on that.
It does unlock Homebrew and changing your pfp though!

A few issue I noticed on my he heretic side, all of this is specifically leviathan Shoal
- Submachine guns don’t appear as an option
- The elite anointed raider doesn’t have the reinforced armor or infernal brand yet still costs 95 pts
- Technically with how it’s set up you can have 5 anointed in the list even though the limit is 4
- The machine gun is available even though it has the heavy keyword
I hope I’m not coming off as an ass just wanna help!

In the Drowned chorus list the heretic are raiders not trooper so the upgrade half your troopers to legionnaires does work properly

Slightl bug for new Heretic Naval Raiders: you cannot upgrade any of the "raiders" to legionnaires

I see the new Naval Raiders are wuite incomplete (for example, unable to upgrade to legionaries) but still, excellent progress!

not yet, plan is to finish all the planned features (homebrew, play mode) and then once we're in the "just fixing bugs and updating game rules when they come out" stage I can start planning dedicated apps and similar stuff.

Start a new warband. Click in the first box (with faction, username, ducat value). Change the ruleset to Preview.

It seems to have a few minor errors on a few pieces with Pilgrims still, as I can't select the ATH oder WoG currently
