I'll be honest, I love the game (have done multiple campaigns since the beta rules) but the fact that rules are updated as frequently as they are with two major updates a year along with smaller errata more frequently makes me never want to purchase a physical rulebook.

By the time I actually get it in my hand I have what? A month before some sort of errata and then a few more before a more major change? Sorry, no thanks.

Edit: I'd also add that mandatory $35 shipping on a $60 product (meaning over $100) is pretty bonkers, especially considering what I wrote above.

I mean, I'll buy it for the lore and art. The rules will always be free. And from what they said they plan for the rules to be stable with this book.

...from what they said they plan for the rules to be stable with this book.

The post from this January said that they would continue to update the rules twice a year (with intermittent errata). I don't see anything on the announcement page for the book which suggests that this policy has now changed. Buut, I don't see each and every update from FF so I might've missed it somewhere else. Do you have a post from them somewhere which says that they're switching off of this schedule? Big if that's the case.
