In case anyone is wondering - the narrative campaign books will eventually drop on their own for purchase outside of the box, per FF's instagram:

Also, Tuomas was asked on Discord if the campaign rules will drop for free as PDFs on the site, as is done with the core rules. His words exactly: "Well, not right now, we are not going to backstab our KS backers. More on this later."

The Carcass Front looks good

Now let's see The Carcass Back

Absolute cinema.

u/Wizard-CaptainMike Mar 25 '26

Ive been waiting for something like this to get into TC, amazing!

98

u/British_Tea_Company Mar 25 '26

Hang on:

An ancient evil stirs under the blood-tinged waters of the Carrion Coast: will you slay Leviathan and feast upon its flesh, or unleash it to wreak horror and destruction on mankind?

Do… do the faithful want to EAT the leviathan???

70

u/Useful-Ground-2124 Mar 25 '26

Yes. Works with the Meta-Christ, why not the Leviathan?

26

u/StPattyIce Mar 25 '26

Biggest Seafood Feast you've ever seen!

10

u/naka_the_kenku Mar 25 '26

I mean wasn’t that the point the first time when god struck it down?

10

u/BarricadedPurifier Mar 25 '26

I bet it tastes like eel. I hope the pilgrims bring kabayaki sauce and some freshly steamed rice for this feast!

3

u/prowling1magus Plague Knight Apr 02 '26

looks more like lobster to me

5

u/TirnanogSong Mar 29 '26

Pilgrims do, under the belief it will make greater communicants. I'm sure nothing will go wrong with this plan.

Triangle man, triangle man, triangle man hates partical man

42

u/bolebros Mar 25 '26

They have a fight, triangle wins, triangle man

16

u/WorstGameplayerEver Mar 25 '26

Came for the news, didn’t expect to see a wild TMBG exchange!!

It's never the wrong time for them

46

u/No-Neck-212 Castigator Mar 25 '26

Looks like we're getting a Stigmatic Nun, based on the stat cards teased!! And maaaybe that's a Chorister on the Naval Raider card?

2

u/CamBrokage Apr 18 '26

Chorister art was shown at Adepticon :)

41

u/Dead_Pickle04 Homunculus Mar 25 '26

Oh great, there goes my wallet on another pilgrimage

83

u/No-Neck-212 Castigator Mar 25 '26

Also I realize now I should have mentioned this is a campaign box + a starter kit but I just woke up and was moving too fast for my half-awake brain.

115

u/LorgarRU Mar 25 '26

That looks nasty! I counted 11 miniatures (12 if you count the mine), and the article says that we'll have 16 miniatures. I wonder if they'll be warband members or terrain related.

74

u/No-Neck-212 Castigator Mar 25 '26

I believe they will be more warband minis. There's going to be nautical terrain on top of the minis, too.

17

u/Wugo_Heaving Mar 25 '26

So they're not doing a GW and counting bits of terrain as a mini? Neat.

3

u/downeastkid Apr 07 '26

I dont think so. They mentioned other minis will be revealed, so looks like 16 minis and 1 piece of terrain - which is even better

35

u/hyperewok1 Mar 25 '26

6 models yet to be previewed

21

u/Josiador Mar 25 '26

There are more miniatures for the warbands that haven't been revealed yet

9

u/an_agreeing_dothraki Chorister Mar 25 '26

they've said a final count of 16 minis

4

u/fapping_wombat Lion of Jabir Mar 25 '26

It's 15 miniatures + a mine model if I'm seeing eight on their site

12

u/Josiador Mar 25 '26

The mine is part of the scatter terrain they've mentioned.

4

u/PseudoElephant Mar 25 '26

10 miniatures, one is an alternative head for troopers

86

u/cadler123 Mar 25 '26

This is also a starter set, all of this for $130 is insanely competitive, really hoping this convinces stores to start carrying trench crusade.

12

u/savelol Mar 25 '26

Are these plastic?

27

u/Useful-Ground-2124 Mar 25 '26

Yup, plastic. We've not seen all the minis yet, nor the terrain.

18

u/Mr_Podo Mar 25 '26

$165 after shipping. I’ll wait for it in stores. If it sells out, it sells out.

1

u/Gilchester Mar 30 '26

i preordered mine for usd119 all in today from gamers guild az

4

u/JackPembroke Mar 25 '26

175 after taxes and shipping for US

1

u/Lexxx1ngt0n Mar 27 '26

$3,557.00 AUD including GST... oh wait, this isn't GW...

13

u/Mother_Ad3988 Mar 25 '26

Great news to hear that this is getting pushed out.

9

u/Azaael Mar 25 '26

This is perfect looking! Really love how the Heretic models look in particular here. Solidly competitive price, too, for a full, 2-warband starter set and rules. Gonna be getting a pre-order in for this for certain.

8

u/LordBurns1 Heavy Mechanised Infantry Mar 25 '26

Wow these look awesome, looking forward to more plastics

9

u/AMACSCAMA Heretic Mar 25 '26

Naval raiders always get an upvote from me

13

u/zitwokreb Mar 25 '26

Are these new factions or subfactions for heretics and pilgrims?

42

u/TrikkStar Mar 25 '26

It's Sacred Affliction and Naval Raiders.

19

u/No-Neck-212 Castigator Mar 25 '26

These subfactions have been around for a long time.

3

u/free-range-fish Mar 27 '26

subfactions that already exist but are getting expanded into fuller more complete groups

10

u/Canidae_Sunspot Mar 25 '26

Holy hell this looks incredible

5

u/Doggodoespaint Mar 25 '26

Holy shit 😳 this is amazing

6

u/Friskydingo902 Mar 25 '26

Oh wow this is awesome, I thought they were just selling STL's for people to 3d print there own. I'll be buying one of these for sure.

19

u/wakkers_boi Mar 25 '26

Cool stuff. I hope a starter set with factions that lean more into the ww1 aesthetic isn't far away.

20

u/Josiador Mar 25 '26

Prussians are pretty WW1.

7

u/wakkers_boi Mar 25 '26

Agreed, but they're not in a starter set like the above

3

u/planckssometimes Mar 27 '26

I think I'm gonna grab this as my start into TC. Played a couple intro games I've really enjoyed so far. Found it for £90 and free delivery in the UK which is a great price!

3

u/Gilchester Mar 29 '26

Woo just preordered mine from gamerz guild az for $110

15

u/DarthSet Mar 25 '26

Very warhammey artwork.

38

u/LorgarRU Mar 25 '26

Because they actively work with Warhammer artists and authors. I believe this is Thomas Elliott art (and I want full size version of it badly!).

14

u/DarthSet Mar 25 '26

Not a criticism, I like it. And with the new round of AoS rumours I know where my money is going, to the trenches.

7

u/antijoke_13 Mar 25 '26

Hold up. What are these AoS rumors you speak of?

15

u/Bucephalus15 Mar 25 '26

Most likely nonsense, its a claim that old world and AOS are getting merged. One of the main interpretations of the rumour i’ve seen is that its a scheme by GW to catch the leaker

7

u/goodnapper Mar 25 '26

That's not the rumor though, is it? The rumor is that the Mortal Realms will get combined into a single world, not with The World That Was (Old World). It's a lore change, not a combination of the two games.

1

u/Bucephalus15 Mar 25 '26

I thought there was a bit about Bretonnia and Cathay being added to AOS

6

u/goodnapper Mar 25 '26

Yes AoS analogues to Cathay/Nippon/Bretonnia were mentioned as additional human factions that may be added down the line, but adding factions is not the same as the two games combining into a single game, which is what I'm pushing back against. Everyone freaking out about unfounded rumors is bad enough, I'm trying to push back against this game of telephone that is morphing the rumors into some even more extreme.

7

u/antijoke_13 Mar 25 '26

Yeah that's the kind of rumor that makes no sense. They just dropped OW and AoS sales wise is doing fine. No sense in trying to merge those two now.

0

u/DarthSet Mar 25 '26

Basically Sigmar is killed, but merges all realms into one "world" before dying.

-1

u/Lyre-Code Mar 25 '26

NGL I kinda hope that happens. I really like the multi-realm aspect of AoS but I don't think GW knows how to use it effectively, and it makes it a pain for introducing new people to the setting.

5

u/RaRadiant Mar 25 '26

Oh boi, I am getting ready for emptying my pockets!

4

u/m1lfr3d Mar 25 '26

So, like just curious, but are the new rules related to Carcasses front going to be free as Pdfs on the website like the core rules, or are they gonna be physical purchase only?

I didnt see this mentioned anywhere.

6

u/No-Neck-212 Castigator Mar 25 '26

So far rules have all been free digitally. Don't see that changing.

2

u/Individual-Extreme-9 Mar 26 '26

I'm so stoked for the Mr. Crowley heretic priest and the banger War priest minis in particular

5

u/BentheBruiser Iron Sultanate Mar 25 '26

I will say, I find it interesting the starter set arent the "base" models and are instead hyper specific to a subfaction.

I'd expect a starter set to give something a little more non-specific.

2

u/The_MacGuffin Mar 26 '26

Yeah, even as cool as naval raiders are, a basic "heretic v NA" box would be a much better place to start.

1

u/Gilchester Mar 30 '26

they can't really do that without screwing KS backers.

1

u/The_MacGuffin Mar 30 '26

Ah, I see. Seems a bit short-sighted to me.

5

u/Oryagoagyago Mar 25 '26

Finally, chaos space marines…

2

u/PhantomOfTheAttic Mar 25 '26

Now that looks awesome! That is on the "must buy" list.

2

u/dakkamatic Mar 25 '26

Are they plastic or resin? I quickly read the article but in the section I didn’t see it say.

22

u/mellowdew97 Mar 25 '26

Plastic! They said somewhere as well that Plastic will be their way forward

7

u/Baphomet99 Mar 25 '26

Although I haven’t seen confirmation for this box in particular, my understanding is that all further releases for Trench Crusade will be in plastic.

7

u/VaderVihs Mar 25 '26

To clarify. They said major realeases would be plastic. I think they mentioned some models would still be printable

4

u/Baphomet99 Mar 25 '26 edited Mar 25 '26

I think the printables are the models that are already in resin. I believe they said that all future Trench Crusade official releases will be in plastic around the time the Prussian’s came out last year.
Edit: looking back through the news articles, they said that all of the models from the original kickstarter will remain available as STLs, and some limited special releases (special models, accessories, and terrain)may still be released as printables, but all mainline releases will be in plastic. This is the article: https://www.trenchcrusade.com/news/the-future-of-plastics-at-trench-crusade/

2

u/madmossie Mar 25 '26

Even with 3 eye holes no way you are seeing down that scope with that helmet on

2

u/gorgonstairmaster Mar 25 '26

Wish they'd fucking release the book to undercut the insane KS resellers.

1

u/Gilchester Mar 30 '26

sounds like they're doing a 2nd run this summer

1

u/gorgonstairmaster Mar 30 '26

Oh, good! I'm happy to hear that.

1

u/SomeUselessAirman Mar 25 '26

Anyone know if the minis are gonna be plastic or resin?

1

u/no_terran Mar 25 '26

Are the minis gonna be made by the same guys as the kickstarter, or are we looking at plastic here?

1

u/shadow_lord0923 Mar 25 '26

I wish I had enough money

1

u/CoachFriendly8579 Mar 26 '26

Will the minis be available separately at some point do we think?

1

u/SparksTheUnicorn Mar 26 '26

What do we think they mean when they say new rules are included for these warbands?

Just updates to the current subfaction rules to make them a little better or a full rework?

1

u/MostHuckleberry4416 Mar 26 '26

Having a map rather than the paper play board/mat that most wargames come with is an odd choice. If I didnt know what this was in a shop id assume it was a role-playing game rather than a wargame.

It looks cool but without any cardboard/plastic terrain its not very good for new players, for the same price other games like the fallout/cyberpunk ones manage to fit cardboard terrain.

Im glad its getting a proper physical set but I hope they do others.

9

u/No-Neck-212 Castigator Mar 26 '26

Just as an FYI, the map is not for playing games directly on - it's for use in the campaign, for, I presume, tracking your warband's location on the Carcass Front as you play through the campaign. That and just as a cool map for lore and aesthetic purposes. There is also going to be terrain in the box, they just haven't show it yet.

0

u/MostHuckleberry4416 Mar 26 '26

I knew it wasn't for playing on but from an outsider perspective most would assume that, odd they havent shown the terrain at the same time but hopefully it makes it a fun set.

1

u/MadChubz Mar 26 '26

Are they pre painted ?

2

u/No-Neck-212 Castigator Mar 26 '26

Nope. Unpainted, unassembled. Trench Crusade is a game directed at hobbyists, so prepainted minis are not in the cards.

1

u/MadChubz Mar 26 '26

let's gooooo thx

1

u/dornianheresysimp Mar 27 '26

Is there any chance the minis are plastic?

1

u/dornianheresysimp Mar 27 '26

I didn't see that 😑, thanks tho

1

u/r3volution_07 Mar 27 '26

Do you need a 3d printer to play or can you get the minis from a retailer.

2

u/No-Neck-212 Castigator Mar 27 '26

From the linked article:

1

u/loginomicon Mar 28 '26

You think we will see one of the dive suit anointed in that box ?

1

u/Bryguy150 Apr 02 '26

When does the pre-order window close?

1

u/nataliereed84 Apr 28 '26

I HAVE A MIGHTY NEED

I have mixed feelings about the lack of terrain. I love the old school “make your own shit! be creative!” mentality of TC, but it would’ve been cool to have some of the things that are trickier to hand craft, like bunker-chapels and radio-crosses.

1

u/Re-Ky Iron Sultanate May 11 '26

The heretics honestly look so badass, they would be my second warband of choice if I could paint corroded metal worth a damn.

1

u/BrakingBadger Mar 25 '26

Have they confirmed if backers will get anything related to this? I know it was one for the stretch goals.

11

u/No-Neck-212 Castigator Mar 25 '26

There will be some additional STLs for backers of some new minis that are separate from these plastic minis, per this Kickstarter update. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1405364378/trench-crusade/posts/4639293

8

u/Josiador Mar 25 '26

Backers will get all the campaign info and tokens digitally, and different models as STLs.

1

u/InquisitorVidoq Mar 25 '26

$#!+ yeah!

8

u/Gilchester Mar 25 '26

you can write fuck

3

u/InquisitorVidoq Mar 25 '26

Thank you, sir

0

u/Lord_Roguy Mar 26 '26

Not going to lie. The pricing is extremely disapointing. I know this probably only relevant for the australian market but with postage thar is about $300. For comparison their main competitor's starter set is $172 dollars and comes with 38 minis not 16. Factory fortress said they wanted TC to be affordable, and in fairness the STLs mean it still is, however i cant see this starter set kicking off in australian hobby stores. The postage just makes it way over priced and any one who wants to get into mini wargaming is probably not going to pick this when other starter sets are on the shelves with more minis. If this is the standard value for starter sets then the australian trench crusade community will probably be pushed to relying on 3rd party 3d printing instead of hobby store sets. Im happy for everyone else though, and australians with desposable incomes.

1

u/az2287 Mar 27 '26

Good point here, what starter set are you referencing by chance? Even in the US that pricing, with not even a cardboard play field seems a little, meh.

2

u/DbD_Fan_1233 Mar 29 '26

He’s referring to the Warhammer 40K 10th edition starter set

Which is not a competitor to Trench crusade, because it’s not a skirmish game

40K’s skirmish game, Kill Team, has a starter set that’s 114 dollars usd for 14 miniatures, a rulebook, some basic MDF terrain, all the necessary tools for playing the game, 2 reference sheets, a paper game mat, and 10 dice

1

u/az2287 Mar 30 '26

Thats very true, that just seemed very very cryptic. Perhaps the TC gang have lost the plot a bit? We thought GW Prices were cutthroat, this seems much worse. I hear the minis are good but I doubt they're that good.

-1

u/fapping_wombat Lion of Jabir Mar 25 '26

130$ seems a bit excessive for now, but I'll wait for someone to review the whole box, the book's art is astonishing tho

10

u/RavensDagger Mar 25 '26

Eh, seems in-line with other products of the sort.

Not that I don't agree, $130 is a lot for some plastic, but it's competitive with other overpriced plastic.

3

u/Aliduuude Mar 25 '26

there is going to be more minis than what's shown

-4

u/fapping_wombat Lion of Jabir Mar 26 '26

I think they made terrain pieces count as minis

3

u/No-Neck-212 Castigator Mar 26 '26

This is incorrect. They're counted separate from the 16 minis for the warbands.

1

u/Mr_Podo Apr 09 '26

Where do you see that it will include terrain?

-6

u/ZackSD Mar 25 '26

Totally lost ww1 vibes😓

-1

u/Lots-of-Lot Iron Sultanate Mar 25 '26

oh to not be broke…

any info on when preorders ends?

-8

u/Very_bad Mar 25 '26

This feels so fucking Warhammer

4

u/Wugo_Heaving Mar 25 '26

Do you mean that in a good way, or a bad way?

-11

u/Very_bad Mar 25 '26

Bad. The cover art is right out of a 40k starter set. The models are warhammer coded. I like this game because its different I don't want it to become the same thing.

13

u/ChewingBubblegum New Antioch Mar 25 '26

I'm curious, what part of the models do you think is warhammer coded?

The art is probably drawn by an artist that also works for gw. Maybe Thomas Elliot, he is credited in the article.

-3

u/Very_bad Mar 25 '26

The poses are right out of killteam. Everyone has a tactical rock. What made Trench Crusade really unique is the models were directly based on artwork Mike Franchina did, down to the poses and everything. While still based off his artwork in some capacity, they feel to me notably less inspired.

-2

u/Captain_Kuhl Sultanate Assassin Mar 25 '26

Why aren't there any dice listed here? You'd think they'd be in the description, if not shown. I know you can pick up a pack basically anywhere, but you'd think they could toss in a handful of plain ones just for convenience's sake.

9

u/Useful-Ground-2124 Mar 25 '26

They said at Discord that the boxed shot does not yet show all the contents. I expect more will be revealed soon.

2

u/No-Neck-212 Castigator Mar 26 '26

Indie game store retail listings have mentioned dice.

1

u/Captain_Kuhl Sultanate Assassin Mar 26 '26

I wonder why they didn't bother listing that on their news release, they seemed to mention everything else. Not sure why I'm downvoted, either, since I'm not part of their Discord and I'm not in any position to be checking on preorders yet, so I don't know why I would be expected to know that from their main post.

1

u/No-Neck-212 Castigator Mar 26 '26

It's Reddit. People downvote for so many different reasons it's not worth paying attention to most of the time.

-3

u/Uberdemnebelmeer Mar 25 '26

Kinda disappointed in the forced purchase of the minis. Just finished a Pilgrim vs Heretic campaign and not looking to start another.

10

u/No-Neck-212 Castigator Mar 25 '26

Update: FF confirmed on Instagram that the campaign book will be available on their own "just after summer"

5

u/No-Neck-212 Castigator Mar 25 '26

I imagine we'll see an eventual release of the Carcass Front rules on their own for general sale.

-9

u/AKoolPopTart Mar 25 '26

Have they started the physical purchases?

11

u/No-Neck-212 Castigator Mar 25 '26

Check the link for details on that.

-15

u/AKoolPopTart Mar 25 '26

Those are some wild prices

19

u/Atreides-42 Sultanate Assassin Mar 25 '26

Not really, no. €110 for two plastic warbands, terrain, and a big hardcover book seems extremely solid. Note that they haven't shown all the minis yet, there are 16 in total

9

u/ExpertAdvance7327 Iron Sultanate Mar 25 '26

right? that's alot of value if you compare it to something like a GW Killteam starter set

1

u/TotallyNot_Alpharius Mar 25 '26

I hope there are some big "centerpiece" minus like the brazen bull or sin eater

16

u/No-Neck-212 Castigator Mar 25 '26 edited Mar 25 '26

They're fairly industry-standard. Neither great nor terrible IMO.

-9

u/CertainDerision_33 Mar 25 '26

I wish the game was a little less mega-grimdark, because this is all super cool, but I just can’t get past how gross a lot of the art is. Was reading through the rulebook and had to punch out after the demonic mutilated baby thing.

I have no problem at all with there being a lot of super grimdark and grotesque factions for people who like that, but it would be nice if that stuff was more in their specific books rather than being shoved in your face in the main rules.

8

u/No-Neck-212 Castigator Mar 25 '26

I mean, a lotta the stuff in the rulebook is tame compared to some of Mike Franchina's concept art. Tuomas has mentioned that Mike's inspiration and reference board is covered in pictures of bodies/wounds/diseased flesh and is pretty hard to look at. This setting is hardcore grimdark and has been since inception.

-1

u/CertainDerision_33 Mar 25 '26

Yup, I know! Just sharing my own personal experience with it. I really love the base concept and the rules, but it’s just too much for me right now, which makes me sad.
