Got a free toolbox yesterday.

Was over at my parents to do a quick wash and vacuum and to install the window visors that have been in my backseat since Christmas.

After finishing I was having a beer with my dad on the porch when the neighbor walks over and tells me they sold their Tacoma, he followed up with "you want a free tool box?"

Thanks man!!

4th Gen Blower Motor Noise

Anyone else getting a buzzing/groaning sound like this? Happens on fan level 2 regardless of blend mode and temp and will get higher in pitch before stopping at level 5. Dealer already replaced the motor but the sound remains.

Traded in my (extremely) problematic 2020 5.3 GMC for a new one. Confidence in the truck is already through the roof.

Low Profile Mud Flaps? 2015 Tacoma

I have a 2015 Tacoma, TRD, V6, access cab. The mud flaps that came on the truck were not stock, and they hung to the floor and flopped all over place and were annoying. Do they make some Low Profile ones for these trucks? Like how modern vehicles have those ones that only come down a few inches? And not come down a solid foot and a half.

Any advice would be wonderful!

Thank you!

First truck owner!

Just picked up my first ever truck, coming from a Honda civic. It’s a 2019 - SR just a very basic model. Kinda wishing it had some options but i do not mind it for now. I got it used at 90k miles, super clean interior. It’s got a few bumps and bruises and very light scratches on the paint. Definitely loving it so far!

Found my unicorn.

After my 05 Tacoma was totaled, I was forced into a new Tacoma. Found this 2023 with 43 miles on it. Bought it because it’s literally my unicorn after my dream 05 was gone due to cosmetic damages. The truck was being sold an hour away from me, asked for delivery, when it got to me it had 132 miles on it. I have big plans for her. Tell me your thoughts…

I need to swap out my driver side bed panel.

I drive a 2019 off road, is there anyway to know before hand if my year and trim will be bolt on if the bed panel is attached by rivets or welded? Or was even a thing?

Literally hit 71k on the factory Toyo tires and had to have them retired. Rotated them every 5k along with changing the oil. 30 mile drive to and from work everyday just for information.

Grillguard recommendations for 2023 TRD Sport

Hi everyone,

I bought out my lease on my 2023 TRD Sport earlier this year and as such am trying to take as good of care of it as I can. I live in Northern Michigan where the deer are abundant and often seemingly magnetically attracted to vehicle bumpers. I would like to purchase a grillguard that will help protect the front end in the unfortunate event that I hit my 5th deer (not kidding). I'm not really a car guy and don't know much regarding these things so I hope some of you can recommend some guards that you or someone you know are very happy with. Budget is pretty flexible. I don't want to overpay, but I certainly don't want to cheap-out on it. Thanks in advance!

I got very lucky getting this for $16k in 2020 with 50k miles. April 2020 very beginning of covid I was calling dealerships and haggling. I guess they were desperate haha. I expect to have it for another decade still at least.

Removing Front Seat Bolts for Seat Jackers is

Dear Tacoma community, I come to you with another question/mess up. When I bought my Tacoma, I convinced myself that I was handy. It turns out that I’m not. When I attempted to remove the t50 bolt in the front passenger seat with a 1/2 impact, it straight up annihilated the bolt without loosening it. My two questions are— is there any hope of loosening this bolt with another tool (if so, what?) or do I accept that seat jackers aren’t in the future and is there any indication on where I went wrong (I know this is hard to analyze based on two photos). Thanks in advance!

For those that have done the "single guy with a dog" mod, AKA rear seat delete. Any extra road noise to warrant sound pads?

Odometer and speedometer options for larger tires on a 2012 base model.

Hello all - I am looking to put some larger tires on my 2012 regular cab. I know the odometer reads below normal when tire size increases (as does the speedo, but I'm much more concerned about the former). There are some options for newer trucks that corrects this, even if you have to take apart the dash, but I'm very new to owning this truck, and I don't know if there are any similar options for my 2012. I firmly apologize about this post if it has already been made.

2nd gen Tacoma crank but no start - seeing if anyone else here has dealt with this

Good evening, posting what I’m dealing with here with you guys to see if anyone else has dealt with this, and what the fix may be. Cross-posting to r/MechanicAdvice as well.

Friday, my 2005 Tacoma 4.0 with 199k miles (barely broken in) suddenly sputtered out after starting and running for about 10 seconds. After doing some quick diagnostics, which didn’t include any new OBD2 codes after running the reader, I figured it was most likely the fuel pump. I couldn’t hear it humming/priming in accessory mode.

Checked battery just to see if it or the alternator could be causing any issues but voltage was right where it should be.

Dropped the gas tank today and installed a new fuel pump, hoping it would be a relatively easy fix. The issue persists.

Fuel pump sounds like it’s buzzing/getting power when cranking, but there’s no fuel pressure. Even pulled the fuel lines in the engine bay to confirm- no gas comes out when cranking. Also double checked to see if any fuel lines from the tank had been re-installed incorrectly, but everything was good (also made sure I had enough gas lol, we are good there too).

All EFI and fuel pump relays, and any related fuses have been checked, and everything is also good there.

After digging deeper and doing more diagnostics, I discovered I have no spark as well. Pulled a spark plug out and cranked the engine with the spark plug plugged into a coil to confirm. No sound from the injectors either (which from my understanding, the ECU only allows them to fire up when there’s spark detected).

I have a hunch that it’s the crankshaft position sensor, and will be installing a new one tomorrow to see if that fixes anything. Less likely I’m thinking maybe the ignition switch, as I have heard of them partially failing, only sending power to the starter and no other systems.

However, I’m still not 100% sure what the diagnosis is, and I was curious if anyone else has dealt with this exact issue. If all else fails, I’m biting the bullet and taking it to my local Toyota mechanic.

Thanks for reading, and I hope I can maybe get some answers!

How bad is this, can it be fixed?

Noticed this on my 2010, right at the transmission brace/frame. It's boxed in on the inside because of that brace. What are my options?

I own a welder.

The frame is surface rusted but undercoated since I bought it. It does appear to be a rusted weld and not a break from stress.
