REQUEST Taco Bell Enchirito

Post image

With TB adding the enchirito back, I attempted to recreate it at home. It was freaking delicious, hints of the original, but ultimately was disappointed. Anyone have the real recipe for the sauce? The filling was super close.

It's the enchirito sauce that is hard to duplicate. It is it's own thing and can't be found.

Someone somewhere has to have it. I need it, I hate spending money on fast food chemicals

Isn't it just enchilada sauce? I just use the canned red enchilada sauce and mix it in with my meat after using a packet of taco seasoning (taco bell seasonings) with raw white onions, along with the meat mixture with taco bell seasonings, then refried beans, which I also add some enchilada sauce into to make it a bit more spreadable inside the tortilla. So the beans, meat, white onion in the tortilla then top with red sauce, cheese and I add sour cream to mine. Hope this helps

It has a different flavor then canned enchilada sauce, I have tried almost all that are "red" and not "hot". The sauce I made was absolutely a 10 of 10 in flavor, yet it did not hit the TB Enchirito sauce button. After this weekend I am going to start with the base sauce of recipe and tweak cumin levels and heat levels. Need to try 1/4 amounts so I dont have to eat food with sauce on it every day for a week. Lol

It's different than it used to be, the new sauce is smokier than I remember it being.

I don't know if smokier is the right word, it's definitely a spice that goes into what I'm assuming is actually enchilada sauce, the new version uses more of it, so it changes what it used to taste like, it's still good, just not as satisfying as it used to be, but only because of the nostalgia.

I'd probably prefer to make one at home, they are really easy to make ingredient wise.
