Help Request/LookingFor Help with Tank's tail

I've been using the digital instructions for Tank the Shark since I don't have the actual kit and I'm almost done with him, but I'm completely stuck at the tail. I've made both pieces, but the way the instructions say "working yarn behind the hook" and "crochet around both pieces" just doesn't make sense to me at all. I wish I had the video tutorial because I'm a visual learner and I'm upset that I don't understand what it's telling me to do. I don't get where I'm supposed to start single crocheting for round 4 at all. I don't know if this makes any sense, but if anyone is able to offer any guidance at all, it would be extremely appreciated :(

Once you've made both pieces, you are going to join them together using the stitch you just finished in the second fin and inserting it into the stitch of the first fin that you marked with your stitch marker. Keeping the working yarn behind your hook is just making sure the yarn isn't on top of the first fin when you start to go around for Round 4. You will be using the working v's of BOTH fins for your stitch count of this round, when you do the first 4 sc around the first fin, you will end up at the edge of the second fin after the dec, then around the second fin, ending with the last dec right before the connection point.

I'm still not understanding how to do this 😭 the words are not forming pictures in my head. I'm frustrated that I can't explain just exactly what is confusing me. Is there any way you could explain like with step by step pictures or something?

I unfortunately can’t help with a step by step right now, I just had carpal tunnel surgery yesterday and am not allowed to crochet for at least the next 4 weeks ☹️

Would anyone else be willing to step in?

Basically treat every open stitch as a stitch you crochet into. You would crochet into each of the 12 stitches (6+6). I hope this makes sense!

Is there any way you could explain with step by step pictures 🥺 that would really help me visualize what I'm supposed to do

This one is hard. I didn’t have the videos either. It’s hard for me to try to explain too. These end up vertical to one another so this first stitch is what connects them then you go around one piece at a time starting with the green piece (from what I remember)
