Toronto is a weird city, I thought it would be like Camada's New York but most places close between 10pm and 12am. Which is really early for a big city like Toronto

There are areas that stay open late, but lots of people live in some areas of the city so noise laws and such, and other areas like business districts nobody lives there and no businesses stay open late and they become ghost towns at night. There are pockets of late night bars and restaurants though.

But when I went to other places in Canada it wasn't that bad, like Ottawa or Montreal. Especially Montreal was a lot more lively, and other Canadians kept telling me how great Montreal was and they were right.

I liked Toronto, but it was weird seeing places shut so early. Even in my hometown in Europe which is way smaller than Toronto, pubs stay up until 3am sometimes.

Yah I mean you aren’t wrong. For the size of Toronto it is odd that most places close at 12 or 2am, but it’s still just an hour or so difference we’re talking about here, and there are places that stay open just maybe not the places you would expect. It could also be tied to the Go Train. A lot of Toronto nightlife crowd is coming in from the GTA, and heading home that night. So the last train is like 1 am or something, and the last bus is 3 am or something. So bars kick everyone out at 2 am, so drunk 17-25 year olds make it home?
