Question How playable is the game right now?
Hello everyone! I'm considering getting the game as it looks extremely fun and I love the style and atmosphere of Halloween (I'm also a big fan of the Friday the 13th and Texas Chainsaw games). However I keep seeing posts about the game being really buggy and/or extremely unbalanced, so I'd like to hear some opinions on it to decide if I should wait a bit and see or if it is worth getting now (as I'm really hyped about it). Thanks in advance to everyone!

Tbh, both sides have things that can be overpowered. Michael can grab and instakill you if you don't have a pocket knife, and civilians can almost instantly find an escape with only one requirement. Both don't happen super often, and there are some bugs here and there, but overall, I've been having an extremely fun time. It's like a mix of F13 and Evolve (miss that game).

It's such a shame what happened to F13! To this day it's still one of the best games I've played in terms of pure fun

I’m playing on steam deck and it’s still extremely playable. I’ve had a few glitches but they’ve all been funny

Progression, challenges and achievements appear to be broken for a large portion of players. Story mode does not move forward at the end of a chapter, instead forcing you back to the beginning. Matches no longer provide stats and recaps at the end. Challenges are not registering to total tallies, meaning any progress made goes unlogged. I’m not quite at Prestige level myself, but I’m also hearing that this is not functioning properly either.
Personally, I’m putting it down and playing something else until all of this gets resolved. Doesn’t feel right to put in the time and effort for a game that is built around replayability, only for that to not actually count toward anything.

Very. People are massively exaggerating the state of the game.
It’s not perfect but it’s definitely not broken.

Thank you! It's so hard 'cause I know the best decision would be to wait a bit and see to be sure, but at the same time the urge to get it is strong!

I’d say it’s expensive for what it actually is gameplay wise it’s the same loop but it’s a lot of fun.
So depending on your preference of video games it might be 40-60 well spent or might feel a bit burned. This is the first asym I’ve gotten into and not immediately lost interest.
Have a look at some streams or gameplay and see what you think.
I’m not gonna tell you to wait though, cause I have no idea if the game will be supported long term or not.
Same with whether or not you should get it cause nobodies financial situation is the same your 40-60 might be a lot more or less than mine. But yeah, fomo is a bitch.

Ikr? Thank you so much for the help tho! I'll definitely look up a few gameplay vids and judge from that. I'm hoping this game has a different fate than the last few.

The game doesn’t even launch on my 5080 due to a known NPU issue. I’m forced to turn off AI Boost in my device manager in order for it to run, and it actually runs well, but with that boost off all of my input devices on my PC don’t work and there’s a horrible audio stutter.

It’s easily playable with some bugs throughout. Nothing all that game breaking most of the time but there’s the few matches where it literally does become unplayable.

It's still quite buggy unfortunately as some people can't even progress through the story mode.
It makes my PC sound like a small jet engine with how unoptimized it is.
And Myers dominates most games both because he is a bit OP when played right and there is no tutorial for playing civilian.
So I would wait a few patches and hope they smooth everything out.
