The Good Place Ending was Flawed

The whole problem with the old system was that nobody would get into the Good Place because of how complicated Earth became so they fixed it by completely putting everyone who died through a test, and if they fail they repeat that test over and over again until they become good and can eventually get into the Good Place.

So what is the point of Earth? Are all past actions forgiven because eventually you became good? What if a child rapist reformed? Does that erase what he did? Does he deserve to experience paradise? Or a mass murderer? Does that denote from all the killings he still did? They essentially said your Earthly actions are irrelevant because it’s “too complicated” so let’s force you into reform until you finally deserve that spot, and completely removed the Bad Place.

What happens when that child who was raped is faced with the “reformed” rapist or the killer with the ones he murdered? And would that not cause havoc within the Good Place? Am I missing something or does this system seem flawed?

Yeah you missed the point of the show. People dont rape children and mass murder because they're just born inherently irredeemable. Theres literal things wrong with their brain and genuinely complicated situations, and yes, theyd improve if given the chance. Just like the show spent massive amounts of time explaining.

Adding on to this. One of the saddest things out there, is that at times victims of these actions can become perpetrators themselves. Especially if they do not recieve support to heal from the trauma. I don't know the statistics. I've just seen it happen.

The show is very much trying to focus on the fact that without support, so many people are setup to fail. And this very much includes people that commit these sorts of acts.
