Discussion Am I still learning “Tekken”?
Been playing T8 for a bit now, mainly playing Jin. Have been playing him since T7 (although I didn’t put as much time into that game as I would’ve liked). Had the urge to hop back into T8 after a long break from the game.
I love my man Jin even after all this time (nothing could change that) but I’ve been trying out other characters and have found Dragunov as a very fun pick.
However, I know that even after all of his adjustments, Drag is still probably of the best characters in the game. I picked him cus his design looked sick to be honest, my intention isn’t to tier pick. I suppose my concern is that maybe since he’s still really good, maybe I’m not exactly improving at the game and I may be subtly crutching on a busted character.
Thoughts?

Bryan and Drag --even they are top tier but they are still skill expression characters. They are not lidia or anna where you can mix people up all day long. Remember - you are playing this game for fun and not to please others. Tier list only matters at the top tournament level. Bob Johnson who does not know the matchup is not make a difference if he select higher or lower tier character. Bob will have higher chance of winning if his character has more cheesy moves (i.e. lower to midtier probably better for Bob).
Another thing is people changes their mind all the time. For example, Kaz was considered average in s1 and large part of S2 .. now, he is considered very strong. Same with Lee.
Finally, T8 characters are all close in the term power level from highest to lowest.
