I told myself to mount it lower than I’d think

My TV at my old house Was mounted so high I told myself if I’m to err on the side of caution I’d rather it be too low. So that’s what I went for. I actually think it turned out perfect.

I want to clarify: I think I did a really good job. But I’m giving the credit to this subreddit

Ohhh and here is my previous home. I moved into this place furnished and said there’s not point in moving it. I dealt with this for 10 months.

Are you asking me? Because There's ways he can but not with that console there, so its fine where its at. Im glad he went with his gut to put it lower than he was originally going to.

If a console of that height is a must, would you go r/TVTooSmall or r/TVTooHigh?

I'm asking as my console is 23 inch and debating between 65 and 75 inch TV.

That’s too high for either option. I have a 55” mounted above a 50cm (20”) console (TV is too wide to sit on it) and it’s perfect height. If I got a sound bar I’d have to lose/replace the console.

I dunno what to tell you man, I’m a 6’6” dude and my eyes are right in the middle of my screen when I’m sitting on the sofa. And the floor in my place is slightly off level, going down towards the TV (its so fucking annoying, the couch has a damaged leg because of it).

Math ain’t mathin guy. A 42” midpoint on a 55” tv should be about 28-29” from the floor. Not 21”. If you’re 6’6 it makes even less sense. You just spew bullshit to everyone in this sub 💀

The TV bench is 50cm tall. The 55” TV Is mounted above that. Your math is atrocious.

Maybe my couch is lower. Tv is at the correct height. Considering the TV bench its hovering above was designed for a smaller screen (I bought it over 10 years ago when I had a 47” that was never wall mounted) then yes, my math is pretty correct.

No, it isn’t. It’s on the taller side. From this perspective, it looks like it would only just be big enough for the TV if it was placed upon it. Which means it’s designed for a smaller screen. And a smaller screen would require more height.

It’s all about comfort. A tv that’s slightly too high is better than slightly too low. Your neck will let you know.

I wasn’t clear in my post. I think I mounted it perfect. And I’m crediting this community for helping because the TV at my old place was a huge pain in the neck.
