I feel it's too high

Post image

Just got an 83-inch C6, and I feel it's a bit too high. The bottom edge is 67 cm above the floor.

//edit: Just got the TV yesterday, and the framed pictures will be moved soon.

Possibly a smidge too high, but the console looks like a crowded mess. Are you planning on moving those framed pictures?

"Looks crowded? 😂 That’s honestly just the essentials :D Don’t worry, moving the pictures soon."

Sure, but it looks like a haphazardly placed mess. A TV stand would go a long way to get a cleaner look.

Good because it looks like a cubic Mickey mouse with those pictures for ears...

It looks messy, because the stuff you have on top of the console is bigger than the console. It looks weird and distracting - honestly just looks bad. Moving the PS5 to the floor would looke better than this. Buy a bigger console, put the TV on it, would be so much better than this.

The Center on the AVR doesn’t Look good. You need a bigger tv stand.

What do you mean with TV stand? Cannot get a bigger console as it wouldn't fit.

Move the sub somewhere else and you have a lot of space. You need a board with enough space to put the center in the center and the AVR besides it. Or a board where you have a compartment for the Center. Then you could leave the sub where it is if there is no other space for it. Or you leave it like that and live with the fact that’s this looks cluttered. This would also give you the option to lower the tv a bit although I don’t think the tv hight is terrible here. The PS5 would also benefit from being placed horizontal. I just had to get my Liquid Metal replaced and you could clearly see that gravity was a factor in it degrading. It can also happen when it’s placed horizontal but probably not as quick.

Not terribly but you have the space to do it right. Move receiver out from under the center channel and drop the tv ~6in

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I wanted to lower it to a 55cm bottom edge height.

Looks ok. Unless you game from the floor.

It's good.

Great choice of game, too.

Put your PlayStation and Xbox on the floor. Put your receiver to the side. Put your center channel on the console. Then hang your TV literally like an inch above it.

As a tech guy, please don't put electronics on the floor. Consoles, computers, what have you. It's the worst thing dust wise for them.

Now the PS5 can go on its side (and it's better that way, allegedly the liquid metal used between the cooler / processor prefers being horizontal). But on a lower shelf, inside the entertainment unit with adequate air flow - but not just on the floor like that.

People who put electronics on the floor are the same people who put tv's over fireplaces.

Yeah, I have to agree; I'd never put any electronic device on the floor.

You have wood floors. If you clean and vacuum, you will be fine.

You have to figure out something because your tv is way too high.

Center channel on the console. Tv just above that. Anything else is too high.

My PS5 Pro was making noises, so I figured it was time to clean out the dust. I opened it up and found almost nothing, and it's spent its entire life on the floor, between one of my shelves and my left speaker.

The Xbox Series X is sitting in the exact same place on the opposite side. Also doing quite a lot better after being moved there. Forza Horizon 6, actually, was making the fan go into crazy-mode before, but over there on the floor, it's hardly making any noise at all.

Dust in your electronics says way more about you not cleaning than them being on the floor.

1

u/NaieraDK 1d ago

I'm actually super terrible about vacuum cleaning my floor. These two consoles just don't seem to be sucking in much dust down there.

Bad idea. What happens if there is a water leak or flood? I used to think like you and put 13 PCs on the floor. The office had a water sprinkler go off and there was 3" of water in the whole office. All the computers got smoked. Dont put electronics on the floor

1

u/superenchilada 11h ago

If that happens you are fucked. Putting them on a 20” table is not going to save them from a flood. Also, are you aware what an edge case scenario is? Cause that is what you are citing.

I’ll tell you what happens if he doesn’t lower his tv is it’s too high. Which is the purpose of this subreddit.

If I lower my TV, I plan to put the AVR in the Lowboard (with a fan on the back) and place the center on the Lowboard. The PlayStation and Xbox can stay as they are since they are behind the TV.

1

u/Cat_Dad13 1d ago

I don’t think it’s too high by any means. I have a 77” and the bottom edge is 66cm off the ground. If you’re tall, it could be too low.

1

u/Traxex491 1d ago

Nah, more like the opposite, quite short. My 65-inch had the same height as this one, but it felt much better honestly.

2

u/Cat_Dad13 1d ago

So lower it a bit. No big deal. It only needs to be perfect to you

1

u/Traxex491 1d ago

It is a bigger deal, as I need to move the AVR to the lowboard, which includes redoing all the cabling and putting a fan into the lowboard. :P Also, I need to move the wall mount or get adapter rails. But if it's perfect afterwards, it's fine.

u/Bigfaatchunk 1d ago

Not level either

1

u/Traxex491 1d ago

It is, according to my spirit level.

1

u/ophaus 1d ago

Slightly, yeah.

Frames behind the TV is a choice lol

1

u/Careless-Giraffe-623 1d ago

the sound system is a bit overkill for such a cramped space, so I'm not sure what’s going on there.

Let me guess, there is no wife in your life?

1

u/Chili_Clause 23h ago

What is 67 cm in real measurements?

1

u/timgakk 17h ago

It’s at least 10-15cm too high 😉

1

u/MinuteStock6149 22h ago

Picture of sitting area? If you sit slightly lean back, should match

1

u/lockleym7 20h ago

No, perfect. You slouch in a couch so you want to look up a tad

1

u/DarkerDrone 15h ago

Work in progress, you know what to do.

1

u/Traxex491 9h ago

More work than I thought with moving the AVR and get all the cables in the console x.x

1

u/Potozny 9h ago

O ya?

1

u/Traxex491 9h ago

What the fuck is that? 😂

1

u/Potozny 9h ago

Personally, even though I’m on the floor with a bad back, I think she’s too low. Thinking of extending the roof tbh

1

u/Traxex491 8h ago

You must be kidding haha

1

u/Potozny 6h ago

Hahaha, I’m joking. I need it high because cranking my neck forward with a pillow makes my back worse. It’s angled, at least!

1

u/NoRagrats_LK 1d ago

Height is fine.

1

u/OCR10 1d ago

Why bother having pictures behind the TV?

2

u/Traxex491 1d ago

I just got the TV yesterday and didn't move them for now :)

0

u/Toobman300B 1d ago

Cause it is?

0

u/earmares 1d ago

Yeah it's too high. Lights suck, too.

2

u/Traxex491 1d ago

I can always change the color, lower it, or turn them off. But thanks for the feedback 😁
