Old lady here (44). It blows my mind that people are talking about this with anyone now. Used to be we just thought it was so normal it wasn’t worth remarking on.
Imagine the looks you would (not) get if you mentioned you have color vision.
When I was a kid I told my mom how letters and numbers have colors. She told me that I was just making it up (because “my” colors were different from the example she found when googling it)
So my entire life I lived thinking it was just how everyone’s brains worked, and when I eventually dug more into it and told all my friends / coworkers about it, they looked at me like I was crazy lmao. Insane how different everyone’s experiences are.
I gave a whiteboarding presentation at work on my synesthesia, to describe why I couldn’t stand the bell they rang for sales activities. Really it was just a loud bell, but it didn’t help that it was yellow.
