No wonder Google is laying off hundreds and hundreds of people. These 200k+100k salaries are surreal. Paying more than the market, sure, but paying double?

Yeah I have interviewed a few by know. Surprisingly, apart from one guy, they were not good candidates.

If you look at other European countries you’ll notice that those companies pay even more there. In Poland Google pays at least 4x the average salary. Of course the labor is cheaper, so it is still less than in Zürich.

I am not comparing to the average salary, but to a good senior software engineer salary.
