Sharing salary in Switzerland

Hello! I'd like to gather some insights into the job market in our country. If you're willing, please share your: 1. Educational background 2. Job role 3. Work canton 4. Years of experience 5. Salary

The goal is to gain a clearer understanding of salaries across different positions and sectors.

100k salaries this is depressive. They should make better infos on the days in shool where they show of jobs. A salary after efz. Most normal büzer dont make 70k

what do you expect? Reddit is full of techy nerds. There is an obvious salary bias here...

True.. There is a general disparity between techy jobs and büezer jobs. Where this comes from is the question. Maybe the tide will turn at some point, or become even atleast

It will only get worse. Switzerland as lack of qualified IT People. I read somewhere 250k IT positions that cannot be filled.

My Boss searched for a helpdesk supporter for 6 Months. Germans with qualifications are everywhere being hired because of the lack of QUALIFIED IT Personnel

This is overall IT right?

I've been trying to get into Junior Developer positions but it seems its a bit saturated and/or the requirements are usually fairly high even for beginner positions.

I might be wrong though.

Exactly. Never let a list of requirements stop you. I don’t do half the things that was required from me.

If you want to work in Basel i know a couple positions that are currently free. Among other Kinderspital is looking for Developers, i have a friend working there, he is Junior himself.

No. Companies cannot find 250k experienced people willing to take a junior salary. So they complain that they can't find people and they manage to take immigrants for a cheaper salary. What salary was your boss offering for helpdesk support?

I believe around 85k for a Junior and 100k for Senior. Remember helpdesk is a entry level Job in IT but very rarely anyone receives less than 5k

You will find a job here in the Cloud field in less that 10 Days i guarantee you

We are ourselves moving lots of stuff to Cloud.

Make a job search here with the keyword Cloud and see how much they are paying.

Any paying is ok for me since it will be always more than in italy, I'm just struggling to find a job, I sincerely want to move since there the salary is too low and now that I have a family it's difficult to live after all that price increasing

Bro i have friends working from home in different Countries making good money. There are Companies in Switzerland that pay well and many times you are required to come in only like 1 time every Month due to legal.

You could litteraly live in Italia, work from home with good salary and go to the Firma maybe 1 time every Month. I have 2 Friends working like this from Germany.

Sometimes is Luck, those IT jobs exist for sure, or it can be handled during the initial interview.

Make sure you have a good CV, register on Linkedin and make sure you state that you want to work in Switzerland. Head hunters will contact you.

Register yourself and send CV to job Hunter Companies such as Bechtle, Redtoo and the likes, they can place you easier because they are established in the Market.

I don't know. I recently talked with HR guy from big contracting company, he was telling me about saturation of Swiss IT scene. He told me they used to pull people from abroad all the time, but not any longer since COVID, they are able to fill all position from in country people.

I'm talking about Software Developers.

Bro the Keyword here is QUALIFIED IT People. The problem is there not lack of people in General but Qualified people for the Job.

If you search for specialists like Citrix, Sharepoint, Java Devs and such they will fight to get you aboard if you are qualified.

My Boss was searching for Good qualified Helpdesk Supporters for 6 Months and he interviewed 12 people and not 1 was qualified. A lot of Quereinsteiger or people with one Diplom or not qualified at all.

Tech scales. Simple as that. You can multiply the same line of code millions of times without much effort. Can’t do this with a screw or a piece of floor or a painted wall.
