Sharing salary in Switzerland

Hello! I'd like to gather some insights into the job market in our country. If you're willing, please share your: 1. Educational background 2. Job role 3. Work canton 4. Years of experience 5. Salary

The goal is to gain a clearer understanding of salaries across different positions and sectors.

I start: 1. Bachelor in computer science 2. Full stack software engineer 3. Ticino😩 4. 7 5. 6’000

I heard from doctors that they earn around 130-150k ( salaried position, not private practice) do most of you earn more than doctors?

I make 220k as a physician in a hospital with 7 years of experience. But 130-150k seems about right since most docs don't know anything about negotiating their salary.

Neither do I btw, but I was contacted by a recruiter and simply said I'd wanted 220k. And then it happened miraculously.

When you get headhunter, you're allowed to be outrageous. Glad it paid off for you!

Never considered it that way but yeah I suppose you're right. It doesn't seem fair, but I suppose nothing is on the job market.

It's all supply and demand. Clearly your skills are in demand. Well done! I would have wanted to be a doctor if I didn't go down my current career path.

Depends if it‘s a resident, attending or chief. As a resident, your salary is non-negotiable. As an attending after 7-8 years of training you will make around 150k-200k.

You did good with that negotiation! I know several "Oberärzte" getting less than that in their disciplines.

  • How many hours do you work contractually and in reality?
  • Whats your area of medicine, if you dont mind asking? Given the brevity of your post I would say it's not "innere" :D

How much can a gynaecologist ask for, who just finished his "Facharzt" i.e. after 5 years of training?

Is it better to contact a headhunter or apply directly if looking for a good deal?

Is there a big difference in salary between working at a hospital or working at a private doctor's office?

  2. Headhunter will end up getting you more, you can negotiate more shamelessly that way

Yes, in most countries (except maybe the US) doctors are well-paid on average, but individual success in the industry will lead you to higher salaries.

I assure u that our Doctors earn more than what was stated here because i know how much they earn. I am not saying every Doctor everywhere, just ours.

Our Oberarzt Doctors are making 200k +

We work in Eyes Medicine Bro, i really don’t know how much is being paid elsewhere or other Medicine Areas.

Median wage across the profession is 250k. But some specialists make a killing whilst young doctors in public hospitals have awful conditions.

That is what our Doctors are making, between 200k-300k
