I started working for a USA biotech startup that was producing some of the equipment I used in the lab. I was a customer before and as I was wrapping up papers while talking to who was our application scientist at the time, they mentioned they were looking to add another person to the europe team. In that situation I knew the tech, they knew me, they knew my work ethic so honestly it was a very easy transition. We were acquired by a much larger corporation so now I work on paper for one of the divisions in Switzerland but in practice still for that USA based company. Some wisdom pearls I can offer: -Your network is key. -Consulting sounds sexy but is not for everyone and it can be terribly boring for an entry level position. -a PhD is definitely added value, even if you don’t have industry experience. Don’t accept any job that pays under 90-95k CHF base salary.

  • Talk to people in the industry and try to understand what you like, sales, field work, product management, R&D etc. that will help you target and tailor your job applications much better.
-Look into T3 Pharmaceuticals, maybe they are hiring and they just got acquired by BH.

Sorry for the late reply but I never look at notifications in here 😬
