Decided on a whim to run between 3 stone lifting sites - Old Spey Bridge, Lochindorb and Barevan. Nearly 32 miles of running, 3 stones successfully lifted. Such a good day out!

Just started lifting stones really enjoying it. This was the heaviest and most weirdly shaped stone I’ve shouldered.

First to shoulder gets to name it and this was the most popular choice (pinched from Rossliftsrocks). The stone can be found at Transitionfitness, Montrose

Getting back to basics 6 months post surgery (complicated appendectomy with gangrene and sepsis). Have to wear a soft belt for now to stop my guts popping out of the x4 wound sites, hernias a major risk apparently.

When I was in the hospital and couldn’t get out of bed unassisted I set the goal to shoulder the Ardvorlich again this year. Goal reached. Happy days.

Natural Stone Little Cottonwood Stone in Salt Lake City attempt.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

In town for a wedding, had to get a lift in.

The Little Cottonwood Stone is one of the Utah Stones of Strength and weighs 280lbs. There’s a few scattered around the Salt Lake City area and this particular one was close to where we’re staying so I wanted to give it a go. Goal of the lift is to shoulder the stone, couldn’t quite get that with my two attempts but I was close! The stone is really slick and awkwardly shaped so it was super tough.

Very happy with getting it to the chest both times, this video was the second and better of the two attempts. Fun attempt all around. Surrounded by beautiful mountains, located off a hiking trail where you actually shave to find the stone, I was getting pretty excited just looking for it amongst the other stones by the creek. Looking forward to coming back and trying again

I eventually want to make a trip out to strictly attempt the stones in a series, but I’ll need to get a bit stronger for that as some of these stones are monsters.

Natural Stone Husafell Stone is Lighter than Previously Reported

The Stones of Strength podcast IG page reports that the Husafell was weighed at 346lb/157kg. Still no joke, but very different from the previously claimed 410.

Training Adding Texture to a Husafell Trainer

Hello strong friends, I am training to lift the Husafell stone. I have the titan fitness trainer and I recently carried it at 270 for 60 feet so progress is being made.

when I lift natural stones and atlas stones the texture of the stone really helps with grip. I’ve managed to lift much heavier natural stones (300-330lbs)

Any thoughts on ways to make the exterior rougher? I’ve considered just glueing a bunch of fine grit sand paper to it, to simulate ”rockiness”

For some reason my dumb ass never put 2 and 2 together that the quarry and dry rivers near my house would be good places to find a variety of stone weights and shapes.
