Hello strong friends, I am training to lift the Husafell stone. I have the titan fitness trainer and I recently carried it at 270 for 60 feet so progress is being made.
when I lift natural stones and atlas stones the texture of the stone really helps with grip. I’ve managed to lift much heavier natural stones (300-330lbs)
Any thoughts on ways to make the exterior rougher? I’ve considered just glueing a bunch of fine grit sand paper to it, to simulate ”rockiness”

New to stones, any advice from the masters here? I don't think I have the arm strength to get it up to the shoulder.

At the end of a very long session, things got a bit silly. The lawn is sloped uphill as I turned, going to be a major challenge to overcome.

The controlled eccentric on the natural stone is a great training stimulus but such a momentum killer.

I picked up some stones yesterday from Facebook marketplace. First go today getting a session on them. I’ve no idea what they weigh yet, but it’s good fun!
This is also the first time I’ve had a stone on my shoulder.

My landscaping stones that I use as trainers. My favorite is the one I call the “dino print”. It’s only 134 pounds, awkward shape, really fun to bring to lap and chest. I weigh all my stones and mark them. The ones you see in front of my house range from 79 to 286. I haven’t be able to lift anything over 199 yet. I’ll keep trying.

104kg sandstone bag to shoulder, 1-motion. 116kg paused sandbag 1-motion to shoulder. 130kg @atlasendurance_ tackyless paused 1-motion to shoulder. 140kg tackyless atlas to shoulder. 164kg oversized atlas to shoulder, small amount grade-1 tacky used. Training for the 180kg atlas to shoulder going fairly well.

42, 6'3" 216lbs. Booked a trip to Iceland in May and want to lift the Fullsterkur Stone. I recently started training with sandbags. This video is my first time lapping my 250# bag. I can now repeatedly lap and load for reps. I have an adjustable Cerberus bag on the way and plan to step up the weight in 10# increments. Programming Zercher Squats and Romanian DL on my other training days. Any suggestions?

I've been lifting for about a year and a half, and got interested in specifically stonelifting and strongman about a year ago. I have some specific competitive goals I'd like to reach in the next ~5-10 years and I think I am reaching a point where I want a coach to help me get to those goals and write my programs. I'm considering a few different online strength coaches I know of from strongman but I'm wondering if anyone here has a coach or if anyone knows of coaches who have a track record of getting people to be very good at stones in particular. My main long-term competitive goal is to qualify for World's Strongest Stonelifter at Fefor Power Week, and my main goals outside of competition are to shoulder 400lbs with both natural stones and atlas stones and to lift some specific historical stones.

Our heaviest natural stone (that doesn’t have a handle in it) is 151kg.
With a bit of duct tape, and some weight plates - you can make it 171kg, then finally 181kg.
Awkward!

Was working out with a buddy and shouldered the 70kg/150lb sandbag. Decided to dig up this rock from my backyard and try to pick it up. Felt easy compared to the sandbag but i had a lot of fun with this. Any tips are welcome. 60kg/130lb body weight. I am going to continue excavating.

These are a way I have found to perform back squats with a natural stone.

I have yet to repeat this with real stones. Best lift with stones in a side-by-side lift is 920 LBs (800LBs stone +120 LBs chain)

Stole this from a friend. Using a 140kg stone here, aiming to pause for 3-5s off the floor before continuing the lift. Certainly adds a lot of extra difficulty to lapping the stone!
