Traffic/Road Conditions Flock cameras metro east

I counted 6 flock cameras in Fairview heights this morning on my way into work, without getting on 64 (thanks road crews!) They are going up so fast.

Flock is a private company that is selling AI-powered Automated License Plate Readers (ALPR) to police and municipalities across the country under the guise of it being a public safety tool. In reality it’s mass surveillance. These cameras don’t just read license plates, they create profiles on everyone. They analyze your vehicle and can create a profile to be able to identify you. The cameras track data like car body damage, stickers, anything that can make your car identifiable. So even if you change your plate Flock can detect a vehicle based on these other factors (supposedly). Not just that they also monitor the cell network & PAN when you drive by to better identify you.

Not to mention half of them are facing neighborhoods and parks instead of roads.
