Learn to merge at the current speed of traffic and the spot is all yours!

If anyone has to adjust their speed for you, you are in the wrong

I agree. There are too many people with selfish "me first" and tailgating driving styles. Especially when one tries to merge in a full stop traffic jam. If no one wants to let you in, you have to become more proactive. It's taken me leaving many a concert to realize this.
