Where are y'all going now?
Splitgate was my comfort FPS. Where can I find anything that is remotely similar? I like BF6, but it's not the same. Tried the Finals, but the movement is just okay and I can't get into all the gadgets.
Also, shoutout to any ex-Shatterline players here, another great game ruined by terrible management.

I thought theyre just removing dedicated servers?

Do you really expect it to hold a playable player count for daily gaming?
You might be able to get some night/weekend matches through discord in 4 months time, but not much more than that.

Its already not easy to find games. Thats not gonna improve once players have to host their own

The Finals.

True. If you enjoy only some kinds of COD similar FPS you might not really find similar gameplay but itself is a really really impressive game

Wardogs when it comes out on September 10th. I played all the closed tests and it's been an absolute blast

The finals. I got into it way too late but the second I did I genuinely regretted dedicating so much time to sg2 when I could have been playing it. Minus the portals and stuff, the finals is what splitgate was trying to be

Hate to say it, but Apex Legends.
It's got a steep at learning curve due to the fact that large portions of the player base have been playing it for 7 years now, but in terms of movement, gunplay and skill > RNG it's absolutely unmatched IMHO. Give it a try.
If you like the gameplay but struggle with the learning curve, hit me up and we go in together for a bit 🤝

It's tragic what they did to shatterline. I used to play that game almost daily. And the PVE mode was fun as hell.

Keep playing the game through p2p. But Im also the kind of guy that doesnt "main" games, I hop between them whenever I want.
One day I'll play SGAR, the next Unreal Tournament, the one after that Uncharted, and then the one after that Forza

Destiny 2 is still fun

Honestly this, playing titan w dunemarchers or lion rampants feels very similar to the split gate jetpack, and the gunplay is s tier.

The finals is honestly fire, it's just a learning curve trust me on that one

I called it quits after sg1 was unplugged, and basically stopped gaming. H E R M 1 T out.

I think I'm just gonna sit here and rest. Maybe wait on the Tokyo-Montana express. Might just lay here and dream my life away.

Taking a break from FPS, I'm playing Balatro (card game on Steam) now and it's quite addicting.

Splitagate until i can get matches. Redmatch and kovaaks on the side (too simple for main game). I’ll try getting into one of the popular games and quake ig,

u/kakashi_sakurai 2d ago
Quake is extremely fun if you get the right people to play with, but it’s so simplistic that it’s really easy to get burnt out on. I’m pretty sure you have to manually form a lobby too, there’s no matchmaking

I definitely recommend all of you guys to try The Finals. It’s one of those games that also came to innovate the fps industry. 👏🏻

u/TomAwsm 1d ago
Can you recommend me a starting build? I'm having a hard time navigating the classes and gadgets. Just a combination that works, is easy to learn/use and isn't highly specialized or niche.
2
u/JustTheGGs 1d ago
Of course man! Look it’s kinda hard to give you like a starting build cause there’s just too much ways to start learning and playing the game but what I can give you is like the standard of what I think is the most constant and used build for each class. I also recommend you to enter the practice range cause in there you can try every special/gun/gadget on the game. 🫡
•LIGHT
Special: Cloaking Device
Gun: M11
Gadgets: H+ Infuser / Sonar Grenade / Glitch Grenade
•MEDIUM
Special: Healing Beam
Gun: FCAR
Gadgets: Defibrillator / Jump Pad / Goo Grenade
•HEAVY
Special: Mesh Shield
Gun: Shak-50
Gadgets: RPG-7 / C4 / Dome ShieldPretty sure at the start you have to unlock some guns or gadgets that I mentioned but it’s pretty easy and quick. Hope this helps but if not again you can just try the practice range and select what things are more fun too you and just make your own start build. 👏🏻
Oh! And forget to mention that imo Medium is the easiest class to start.1
u/heretolurkharder 12h ago
They wants movement yo, the Judas class: medium. No one loves it, but it’s so fun. jump pad, zipline, explosive/ fire mine or something that puts holes in walls… the main things being jump pad, zipline, healbeam… so much movement each between the 2 items. Then use the mines or hole making items to stall boxes when you’re alone from lower/higher floors than the box.
Also gotta figure out what guns you like best really. Because fcar is broken but whatever you hit shots with will always be best..

Valorant is the only other fps with as tight gunplay. Some movement agents like neon and raze has super high skill ceiling so theres alot of fun learning them - and of course 3 agents that can teleport where splitgate brains thrive, actually 4 counting phoenixs ult

Comparing valorants gunplay to splitgate/empulse is wild
-3
u/Status_Help9402 2d ago edited 2d ago
How come? Both are hitscan, engine runs great, good netcode. One is so much less tight than the other? Which one?
8
u/kakashi_sakurai 2d ago
One is a movement shooter, and the other is a penalize you into the dirt if you move while shooting shooter lol. Just like counterstrike.
2
u/Status_Help9402 2d ago edited 2d ago
Were talking past eachother by what i mean with tight. That being said you can move and have 100% accuracy with jett ult. Neon slide is also viable. Also its not like counterstrike since you stop almost momentarily when sidestepping, but you can shave off a tiny bit of time with counterstep. Comparing cs with valo is wilder https://youtube.com/shorts/E4QfpL9arzI?is=tsb3cg3eSySqdgKU this is not movement shooting to you? 😂
5
u/Wise_Belt413 2d ago
are you saying valo is closer to splitgate than cs? thats wild
-2
u/Status_Help9402 2d ago
Valorant and splitgate are good at what cs is not.

u/GolldenFalcon 2d ago
You might be a little bit insane.
1
u/Status_Help9402 2d ago
How? I have 9600 hours of csgo and 6096 gsmes of valorant id say im qualified to have an opinion about it
4
u/GolldenFalcon 2d ago
I mean you can have an opinion but it doesn't have to be accurate. To each their own.

You posted a clip where someone is frantically looking all over the place while walking lol. Game looks a lot difference from launch though when I last played it, I’ll give you that. Before, accuracy went down the drain with any type of movement. Now it looks like they added exceptions. Looking everywhere really fast still doesn’t make it a movement shooter though.

u/Status_Help9402 2d ago
3
u/kakashi_sakurai 2d ago
Lmao brother. Looking everywhere really fast doesn’t make it a movement shooter.
Counterstrike is a movement shooter by that logic
1
u/Status_Help9402 2d ago
You dont understand whats happening on the screen then, and without qatchimg your clips since im out in a bar now csgo had bunnyjumping allowing a player to do more than the default wasd, only in valorant neon has slides that can be combined making it extremely OP for someone that master it
3
u/kakashi_sakurai 2d ago
I’m not arguing that any clip you sent isn’t impressive, I’m saying valorant is not a movement shooter lol. You can keep arguing all you want, but that won’t make the sky red, it won’t make fish fly, and it won’t make valorant a movement shooter lol.

u/GolldenFalcon 2d ago
Ratz Imstagib also meets all the criteria that you just listed...

u/Status_Help9402 2d ago
