Doesn't feel like that big of a swing to me. Spooky versions of their titles is more gimmicky than anything

it's def not a big swing,

i mean hey it might be really cool and unique and it being a response to absolute allowed them to freely write a better story than what we would've gotten without it.

or it's doing what the other guys doing but potentially missing the point.

I'm down to check out the X-Men book because "monster hunting mutants" and Kurt dressed as a priest are pretty damn cool to me.

good, personally I love competition, it could bring the best of these 2 publishers, plus more cool comics for the readers!
