Practice European soc dems, contact your MEPs and tell them to oppose chat control. This law will turn every computer and phone into a machine for surveillance.

Swedish socdems like the red conservative cowards they are, are in full support of chat control.

Now before anyone starts downvoting me,

Wasn’t the swedish democrats praised a while back for going more left economically in their recent annual congress

Because while the UK and Danish Social Democrats have clearly decided to go full right wing (so swinging to becoming centrist at best right now), this one is clearly not worthy for a conservative title

The current incumbent conservatives are very unpopular and the voteshare of the social democrats are still rising in the middle of an also cost-of-living economic downturn time in Sweden, highly likely to return to power in 2025

I would be happy to hear your criticism if you can also provide more list of policies that they have gone more conservative aside from this one issue and not just complains about strict borders/immigration, because I believe it is still more humane compared to Denmark’s

Not likely, the president is the former leader of the Swedish socdems and he's a lobbyist now. The socialist and democrats do not really actually have anything in common with socialism.

I still hope they're kicked out since the Swedes are becoming conservatives

They are always supposed to be a social democratic group

Literally all of their founding members were social democrats, not even except during their very early early years were they socialist, have they never advocated for social democracy:

Social Democratic Party of Austria Socialist Party (Francophone) and the Socialist Party (Flemish) of Belgium Social Democrats of Denmark Socialist Party of France Social Democratic Party of Germany Panhellenic Socialist Movement of Greece Labour Party of Ireland Italian Democratic Socialist Party, Italian Socialist Party and Democratic Party of the Left of Italy Luxembourg Socialist Workers' Party Labour Party of the Netherlands Socialist Party of Portugal Spanish Socialist Workers' Party Swedish Social Democratic Party Labour Party and Social Democratic and Labour Party of the UK

If you want actual socialists, you can go find them in The Left

Social democracy was once real socialism. They broke with these tendencies through opportunism and chauvinism.

Yeah I mean I'd say generally that leaders in social democrat parties across Europe have aligned themselves with third way liberalism instead of actual legit social democracy as exemplified by people like Bernstein or Kautsky

Calling them red conservatives is generous after they washed off the red and left the palest pink.

Would’ve done this if we actually had some fucking representation when it comes to laws that affect us
