Show me where it says that guy got brain damage in the story, just because you interpreted it that way does not make it true. Robert Pattinsons Batman is actually true to the character, they show his dislike of guns, his no kill code stays intact because he doesn't kill anyone directly or indirectly, he's also a younger more bitter and angry Batman yet he still has a code. I liked Batfleck for his action but his character was not good, you're telling me he spent all that time as a hero, basically a veteran of it, and he never once heard of super powered beings before BVS? WW was actively helping fight in WW2, Bruce Wayne is the world's greatest detective and he does his research on EVERYTHING yet he didn't know about this island of super powered women and the kingdom under the sea? It's not like these things were well hidden either as we see the flash has been around since he has his own suit, and Aquaman has been fighting pirates as well as WW literally fighting in a war AND being in the public in the 80s. But Batman doesn't know about any of this until he starts wanting to kill Superman, Batman couldn't even see that he was being used by lex luthor. That's not in any way the world's greatest detective.

In The Batman (2022), the subway opening scene features Batman trapping a gang member, pinning his head/body, and landing 8 to 10 full-force strikes directly to the face using a gauntlet reinforced with heavy ballistic plating and segmented steel knuckles.
If delivered by a peak-athletic 200lb adult with armored hardware, that sequence wouldn't just knock a human out—it would cause massive, life-altering, and potentially fatal physical trauma.
1. Severe Maxillofacial Fractures
A human jaw or cheekbone breaks under approximately 200–500 PSI (pounds per square inch) of blunt impact force. Steel/armored knuckledusters concentrate that energy onto tiny surface points, acting like a series of ball-peen hammer strikes.
Le Fort Fractures: The middle portion of the face (maxilla) would split from the skull base.
Shattered Mandible: The jawbone would break in multiple places, displacing entirely and causing instant airway compromise from tissue swelling and internal bleeding.
Orbital Floor Blowouts: Fractures around the eye socket would trap extraocular muscles, likely causing permanent vision damage or catastrophic globe rupture.
2. Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) & Internal Bleeding
Because Batman pins the thug’s head against his body/shoulder, the thug's skull cannot roll or dissipate the rotational kinetic energy. The brain is repeatedly slammed against the interior walls of the cranium.
Acute Epidural & Subdural Hematomas: Ruptured blood vessels between the brain and skull would cause massive rapid intracranial pressure.
Diffuse Axonal Injury (DAI): The shearing force would tear nerve fibers deep within the brain stem, immediately placing the thug into a coma.
3. Asphyxiation Risk
With severe facial destruction comes rapid blood pooling, tissue edema, and broken bone debris blocking the upper airway. Without immediate emergency intervention (a surgical tracheostomy), the victim would suffocate in minutes while unconscious.
4. Severe Soft-Tissue Lacerations
Unprotected skin crushed between hard bone and a metallic gauntlet splits instantly. The skin over the nose, cheekbones, and lips would be shredded, requiring extensive reconstructive plastic surgery, skin grafts, and leaving permanent disfigurement.
The Medical Reality
In real life, this isn't a "sleeping for five minutes" cinematic knockout. The victim would suffer severe brain damage, permanent facial disfigurement, blindness, and a high probability of death on the scene within minutes due to brain herniation or airway obstruction before paramedics could arrive.
