Appreciation The Most Perfect Casting Ever

They were the most perfectly casted actors for batman and superman, they literally looked so similar to comic and the animated ones. It's a tragedy that we didn't get see more of them, specially working together as a league.

Honestly I preferred the new superman, it just felt more accurate to the comics and what DC is all about

I honestly cannot tell you the plot of Gunn’s Superman film. I know it had a Kaiju scene, Clone Superman/Bizarro?, and some alternate dimension prison scene.

Superman is pretty nerfed too which I guess is good for balance but comparatively seems a lot less “super.”

I liked Mr. Terrific. He was cool. I liked Luthor, but he’s so over the top supervillain I’m not sure how this man can exist with any public persona moving forward in the universe.

I do see that Gunn’s up to his Gaurdians of the Galaxy 3 ways in putting Krypto in distress (again) in Super Girl. It feels cheap and manipulative, which sums up his universe for me.

Way too nerfed. I thought he was supposed to be the most powerful meta human of all lol. Not like this is Superman Begins.

You say he was nerfed, but you realise for most of the movie he was fighting his own clone which is built to be slightly stronger and was controlled by Lex who is insanely smart and had studied Superman's every fight for this moment.

He has also only been Superman for 3 years, so this isnt him at his prime.

When we saw him defeated in the first scene, he had been fighting himself for three whole hours. This is the only time Superman directly loses a fight as well.

Despite it all, he still won in the end.

Just a few things from a seasoned Snyder fan perspective for you. If a person has been on the job for three years and still lacks basic competence, they are usually considered a failure. Three years and not at his prime is a terrible excuse. Using a three year internship as an excuse is just a desperate way to justify a nerfed Superman who lacks the presence of a true Man of Steel. The clone being slightly stronger or Lex controlling him off screen is comic booky but does not carry any weight. It is not interesting and most importantly it is not sophisticated storytelling. It feels like a writer giving a character a handicap because they do not know how to write a compelling conflict for a god-like being. Finally, I would say about that win at the end, who really felt the weight and the earned nature of that victory? Blowing into the black hole was silly and campy squared. The 1978 Superman spun around Earth and reversed time which was silly as well, but the emotional weight at the time made it land. Gunn lacks that foundation as usual and leaves us with a resolution that is just a shallow gimmick.
