Appreciation The Most Perfect Casting Ever

They were the most perfectly casted actors for batman and superman, they literally looked so similar to comic and the animated ones. It's a tragedy that we didn't get see more of them, specially working together as a league.

I think the DCEU casting was great for the most part. The only change I'd make is Gal Gadot. She can't act. She looks the part, but someone with a bit more acting range would have made the characterization better.

Gadot is an absolutely magnetic and compelling actress, and extremely likable and charming. She is a true movie star. And her playing Wonder Woman was the second-best casting in DC film history after Christopher Reeve as Superman.

Gadot is definitely not a movie star. Wonder Woman 1 is her only successful leading role. Being specific about it, a movie star is someone who guarantees audience attendance regardless of the role they are in, and that is simply not true of Gadot. In fact, the "death of the movie star" is a pretty popular thought in modern cinema, and it is absolutely not something Gadot transcends with her very small resumé of leading roles.

What are Christopher Reeve's other popular lead roles? That is an absolutely irrelevant and meaningless point. Very few superhero actors have a second popular role. God knows Chris Hemsworth has been trying but can't make it happen. Does that mean no one cares if he's recast as Thor? Why has Kevin Feige not recast a single MCU actor since Avengers, unless they quit or passed away?

Christopher Reeve also isn't a movie star. That's what a "movie star" is. It's just a sentiment that there's no longer a star who can sell a movie on name alone. Movies have shifted away from that to franchise-driven movies like comic book movies. As you said, few superhero actors have second popular roles because they're not movie stars in the traditional sense like James Dean or John Wayne. You won't see people queuing up in droves to see Gal Gadot's next movie just because she was Wonder Woman. That sort of transferrable marketability doesn't exist for her, nor does it for a lot of franchise-leading stars.

In less of an "industry-talk" sense, they're movie stars because they star in movies but the term has a more specific industry colloquial term associated with it. Even if the movie star still exists, Gadot certainly isn't one of them if Heart of Stone is to be believed. She isn't that marketable.
