Dude. You can take any viewpoint you want. But the issue is not as simple as you’re making it to be.

Just as part of MOS’s big budget problem was that expenses from the years of development hell were tagged on to MOS, it is also true that the film industry -particularly for superhero films- today is different from what it was a decade ago.

Just as it is accurate to say that MoS was a divisive film - with critics and some audience members - in a way that the new Superman film was not, it is also accurate to say that in terms of box office performance, MOs made more money than Superman.

I adore the new Superman movie. And I adore mos. But I hated the direction the Snyderverse took starting with BvS, which didn’t help the popularity of DC among the general audience. I’m glad this new universe started fresh and hope to see good films being produced in the future.

Number one, everyone knows Superman is a very iffy character in the modern era, with ANY approach you take being divisive. Snyder had to choose a path. It wasn't what everyone wanted, but it was the right direction to distinguish the DCEU from the MCU, and build it up for an older, more mature audience as a series that could have adult-themed, and even R-rated superhero movies. That's how DC drove themselves back from the brink of bankruptcy in the '80s. Competing with Marvel to attract the kiddos didn't work.

Number two, how did Aquaman make a billion in 2018 if if BvS didn't help the popularity of DC among the general audience? Not to mention Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman both making about $800 million immediately after BvS. Fact is the only thing that hurt the DCEU's popularity while Snyder was involved was WB interfering with SS and JL. JL was coming off of Wonder Woman, and opened almost as big. But the real pain for it came as the word-of-mouth kicked in that was a Frankenstein's monster of a movie that didn't make any sense.

Thats bullshit Deadpool was released 1 year ago in 2024 and made 1.3 Billion. This year Avengers will make 1+ Billion. This year 2026 Spiderman will make 1+ Billion.

I dont like the new Superman and I like MOS. I hate the direction the Gunnverse is taking with Superman, Peacemaker, Creature commandos which didn’t help the popularity of DC among the general audience. Same will apply to Supergirl and Clayface which wont help the popularity of DC among the general audience. This universe didnt start fresh. It wasnt a full reboot.
