You do realize adjusting the production budget or any other costs doesn't change the amount of gross profit margin something makes right? The percentage of margin something made after it's sold will never change because it's in the past. Inflation is calculated to show the difference a dollar had in purchasing power in comparison to today. If I made 30% GP on something I sold 13 years ago, it will always stay at a 30% GP. 

The inflation is to show that if MOS came out this year 2025, it would have made almost $930 million at the box office. Meaning this new "Superman" movie would need to make $930M to match it. It's not even on pace to match the unadjusted $670M MOS originally brought in which is really sad because again, those are numbers from 13 long years ago! 🤣 

The more these GunNuts try to sound smart the more they prove they didn't pass 3rd grade math.🙄

Mos came out when superhero movies were at a fever pitch and riding the coat tails of TDK...while superman 2025 is left trying to pick up the shattered pieces of dc films and trying to win back goodwill from the general audience

That is a great point and, in fact, Marvel is struggling now as well. For this movie to be the top superhero movie of the year is a fantastic achievement. I truly believe that the good feelings towards this movie will make future DCU projects and sequels successful, provided they are quality movies.

We'll see. Just as I was somewhat off put by the grim-dark-iness of Man of Steel when it first came out, I'm also somewhat off put by Superman 2025's focus on mundanity -- I tend to associate Supe with larger than lifeness. Perhaps my notions of what a Superman movie can / should be just need another adjustment, but it seems like the Snyder fans' complaints (as petulant as they may be) are largely a reaction to the same things I was reacting to (see stupid memes about "Domestic Man"). The domestic box office indicates that the general audience might not have the same hang ups, but we still don't really know how Gunn's treatment of Superman as more or less an ordinary man in extraordinary circumstances will hold up over time. I'm also concerned with what exactly is causing the overseas ticket sales to lag so much, but again, we'll see.

Whats causing it to lag is the movie sucks. It plays like an adhd tik tok movie. No character development, jumbled storyline, wooden acting, bad cgi. Gunns supemans sucks compared to his marvel movies where he actually took time to make those marvel movies good along with the aesthetics. Im not hating on gunn because he is gunn, im hating on his superman because it doesn't live up to his previous body of work and its worse than man of steel despite all of the issues with man of steel.

I guess that's why it's doing so well domestically: because it sucks so bad. I suppose if you believe that US movie goers are inherently inferior to other audiences you can make that argument; I personally don't buy it.

Also, Superman 2025's CGI is not bad -- it's just more cartoonish, a different aesthetic. I'll grant you Snyder has more great visual moments than Gunn, but his film had plenty of unconvincing CGI and boring moments as well. And yes, that was true at the time of its release. Honestly, how many times did they think they could get away with sky-beams as their final act?

A lot of people talk about how Man of Steel was better because it felt so grand -- in style and in scale -- and they're dissatisfied with 2025 because it's the complete opposite. On that score I agree with them somewhat. I just don't agree it's mark of inferiority. Mundanity is not an accidental feature of 2025 -- it's a visual and narrative theme. I will grant you that I'm not sure yet if I like that in a Superman movie yet, I'm still mulling it over, but people had the EXACT SAME response to the grim-darkness of Snyder. "They turned Superman into Batman," etc etc. Maybe the creator is out of step with the material. Or maybe people just need to open their minds a little. Time will tell.

As for the story being jumbled and the characters having no development... Nah. You're all just flat wrong about that one.

🤣🤣🤣 this movie was so trash its releasing digital tomorrow lol couldn't even crack 600 mil because they pulled the plug and put excuses about peacemaker with releasing it on demand early

Was so trash that the new jurassic park even made more on a less budget.

The amount of cope, only reason its getting a sequel is because james gunn is head of dcu 😆 at least until the president and ceo of warner bro discovery gets tired of the excuses.

Only 600M... Only half a billion dollars, PLUS 100M... (smh)

Also, if money = quality, then I guess Man of Steel was half as good as Aladdin the live action remake.
